Axl Rotten having a brief stint in WCW 1991 will always be a strange one to me. A guy who would go onto be viewed as a hardcore icon pretending to be British and feuding with 'Rapmaster' PN News in a still very much "Southern Rasslin'" version of WCW was wild.
Mabel showing up in ECW as a member of the FBI in like 1997-1998 also sticks out in my memory as being super random.

He was certainly as Italian as most of the group

Animal and Tatonka in Smackdown in like 2005… What the hell was that all about. In Animals case it was because of the Road Warriors DVD and nostalgia run. Most likely they tried to to keep Animal around because of Ace. Tatanka? Maybe just Vince being nice.

Tatanka got a big nostalgia pop for a come back in like a hometown challenger thing... and then rehired him. Then Tatanka went to war against the white man... and of course attacked ... BOBBY LASHLEY! >_>

Animal and Tatonka in Smackdown in like 2005… What the hell was that all about. That seemed to be a thing in general around that time period, with Jim Duggan and Roddy Piper coming in for actual tv matches as well. I guess part of it was keeping in tune with the larger push of the Legends branding post Attitude Era.

Tatanka? Maybe just Vince being nice. I think Vince had a lot of making up to do as Tatanka was suspended in mid 1995 after being accused of drugging and raping a woman but it turned out to be Jimmy Del Ray.

I think Vince had a lot of making up to do as Tatanka was suspended in mid 1995 after being accused of drugging and raping a woman but it turned out to be Jimmy Del Ray. there was also the quote from Funk in Mick's first book about bringing random people back. "Sometimes Vince just does things to be nice." and of course even then sometimes that leads to like Saba Simba gimmicks (Even if Tony quotes the gimmick as saving his life)

Any of Barry Windham's WWE runs. Aside from U.S. Express his runs were "WTF?" moments. His style never fit well with WWF and I can't remember his mic skills being great. His Wrestlemania 1 backstage promo was pretty bland. I guess he got stale in both promotions and just took off when he found it necessary or got burned out. I can see WWF felt the Stalker and New Blackjacks were the best they can do for him.

Sunny in WCW just felt really weird to me. I know her downfall between 98-00 was fast but she just felt like such a non entity when she got there
