Can we peg them now as DOA With Matt Hardy as an official member?

I guess that's the only time the Firm are going to stand on top in AEW, I guess.

Th Im 100% sure the original plan was Firm and MJF vs Punk and Pinnacle but got ruined when Punk self destructed, Firm vs BCC makes no sense given how strong the BCC has looked so far so imo its better to have MJF disconnected from the Firm.

Firm showing they aren't just gonna be cast to the side by MJF who thinks he has way more power than he does is a perfect scenario imo, whether it leads to a twist or not It made Ethan Page especially look like an absolute killer, Morrissey also looked like a monster, and The Gunns/Moriarty are great gnats who add to the numbers

So since the Firm would only come together when MJF needed them, are they now essentially done? MJF had them on retainer so he was paying them to be a group.

No longer on retainer, they will remain together thanks to a shared bonds for retainers. (All of them clearly had braces as kids.)

It is weird that after giving a faction a unique identity and stated end point they've abandoned it so quickly, I actually really liked that as a stable concept. But if it gets Lee Moriarty and Ethan Page on screen more often...

If the MJF turn is fully legit, then you've got a pretty simple thing to do with the Firm, here: sure, Stokely and MJF brought these guys together very loosely, on retainer and all that, but after a few weeks Stokely got a taste of what he could do with a group like this and has now decided "@#$% retainers, I'm gonna use these guys to take everything for myself." He's clearly got Ethan Page on board as his main guy, having played off his frustrations over not being utilized enough, and the Gunns and Moriarty are young enough that they can be convinced that this is the best path to the top for them, all as Morrissey is the loose cannon big guy. Plus he can point to MJF and say "that little bastard promised you all big money, and he's already negging on us, let's stick together and make his life miserable" as a means of keeping them united.
That said, long term I'd prefer a more old school Heenan Family approach to things where they team together sometimes, but otherwise get to do their own things. Moriarty is likely going to be part of the new ROH, Page is likely getting pushed higher up the AEW card as a singles guy now, they'll have utility up and down the card.

I guess The Firm being a non-entity in the main event pretty much sums up everything.

Does this faction have any kind of a future? Honestly felt that almost immediately after that first promo they seemed to pivot to only really trying to get Ego over. Some things obviously changed because of the Punk fiasco but I also thinknthe reaction to the group from the start caused some shift

Stokely Hathaway just can't catch a break. All I ever heard about him was that he was meant to be this crazy charismatic manager and the guy just keeps getting attached to acts that either aren't a great fit or aren't getting pushed.

I like Stokely but after seeing how things played out, especially his first big promo? I think a decision was made that it was more good idea km theory. Let him grow with the Firm and focus on Page as the main guy. Felt like they did have a plan in place originally and had to pivot and think what they wanted to do.

In general Stokely just kind of doesn't work for me. I think he's a very funny guy on Twitter but as a performer it just doesn't land.
Might help if he wasn't surrounded by the most boring and slapdash stable since the Diamond Mine I guess.
