Per a Facebook post from Big Time Wrestling, Steamboat will be returning to action in Raleigh, NC’s Dorton Arena on November 27.
How pissed is Conrad Thompson?

I thought that that brain aneurysm that he had in 2010 forced him into permanent retirement.
Considering what we know about how brains can’t heal and the fact that he is as old as he is, he might want to think twice about this but I am not a wrestler so what do I know.

The great thing about brains is that the more damage they take, the more invincible we become.

Well, was it the aneurysm itself, or the fact that he was a guy in his 50's (at the time) and the recovery time made it not feasible to return? Honest question. I do not know that answer. EDIT: A quick google search says contact sports can be resumed 3 months later after having surgery for the aneurysm: www.neurosurgeonsofnewjersey.com/blog/brain-aneurysm-surgery-recovery/

I think he's worked with Big Time before in non wrestling roles and he lives in NC so maybe there's some relationship with the promoter and he's willing to do a match for them over Conrad who I think a guy like Steamboat would know is just in it for themself.

He will get hate but honestly, if he wants to do it, let him.
You get one life, just do what you want.
Even if this match is an absolute stinker (which I doubt), it's not like people will look back and say "Man, Ricky Steamboat was one of the absolute best ever.... until I saw that match he had when he was nearly 70."

Big Time Wrestling has announced further details of the card.
The main event will feature Steamboat teaming with FTR to face Arn Anderson’s Four Horsemen, consisting of Jay Lethal as Black Machismo, Brock Anderson, and a mystery partner.
The undercard will feature the Rock n Roll Express in their final match at the Dorton Arena as they take on the Briscoes.
Teddy Long will serve as guest commissioner, and Lex Luger will serve as guest timekeeper.

I get it from the standpoint of well, Steamboat doing this with people he hasn't faced before has different expectations to it than Steamboat vs Flair does.

I wonder who the mystery partner is... Can Tully still go? Blanchard jumped off the middle rope multiple times to help FTR deliver spike piledrivers last year in AEW. Don't remember him actually taking a bump... which he'll need to do as armdrags will be fast & furious with Steamboat. Arn's been much more physical... although some of that involved him falling off the stage.

Blanchard can wrestle to an extent. Would also make some sense since I don't recall him ever getting revenge for FTR firing him.

Well…
Scott Steiner won the Jimmy Valiant “Boogie Jam Invitational Battle Royal.”
Matt Hardy beat Crowbar.
Kerry Morton retained the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship against Brian Pillman Jr.
The Rock n Roll Express defeated the Briscoes in the Rock n Roll’s final match at the Dorton Arena.
Ricky Steamboat and FTR defeated Jay Lethal, Brock Anderson, and mystery partner Nick Aldis.
There were a couple of other matches featuring indie talent, and several appearances from legends along the way. Sounds like a pretty fun show.

I know Aldis gets dunked on a lot, but not a bad mystery partner, really.
Sounds like an interesting card.
