Does anyone else think Big Show booking during the 2001 invasion angle terrible and he could of been a bigger part of it? During the invasion angle he didn't really do much in it other then a tag team with Billy Gunn and later Spike Dudley and in throw away tag team matches. the biggest thing he did during it was be in the 10 men tag at Survior Series at the last minute. I think he should of been a member of the Alliance and it would of made more sense storyline wise as he was a former WCW World Champ. They could of have Vince insult him after losing to Shane at Backlash, and sometime during the invasion have him turn and join the Alliance. With the storyline reason that he felt WWF was holding him down. I think it could of worked a heel Big Show in the Alliance

Yeah, it was pretty stupid. Big Show was aimless after losing the Hardcore title. Whenever you were randomly paired with someone else without any direction, it was almost never a good sign, especially when you had separate gimmicks and music. Big Show obviously made more sense being in the Alliance over Kurt Angle...but that is like one of a thousand things wrong with the Invasion storyline.
Big Show joining the nWo was so telegraphed for me that I was happy that it happened, however again he was just there to be a punching bag for stupid comedy and again the whole thing failed.
It's insane how often Vince completely missed Big Show during part of the peak of his career. There was never a question of how threatening he was, since they didn't ever book him credibly enough to be a monster...much like how Kane was most of the time as well; if you were a main eventer facing Big Show, then you almost certainly were going to win. However, if you were a midcarder, then Big Show was likely going to squash you and you wouldn't even be in the middle of a feud. Like I mentioned... completely directionless. Winning the WWE title off Brock didn't even work that much since he was only there to get the belt to Kurt...then he was right back to irrelevance, going on to team with...A Train.

Yeah, he should've defected to WCW and worked as a muscle. He had a history with Shane (both together and feuding).

I know a lot of people hate the "WMD" punch, but I like that they had Big Show's finisher be, well, just punching you. Debuting it by having him just punching Undertaker in the back of the head and knocking him out, almost as if he realized "Wait, I only had to do that this whole time?" just kind of works in its simplicity.

At the time I was super annoyed that the Alliance was mainly WCW scrubs and a bunch of WWF guys who turned heel, and that the WWF guys they chose were nonsensical
- Kurt Angle who never wrestled there - Steve Austin who has buried the company at every opportunity since leaving - not Chris Jericho, already a heel and a former WCW talent - not Big Show, a former WCW champion
I feel like the Alliance's credibility generally skyrockets if you just had those two guys on the team
The InVasion had so many problems and it is stupid all the way down. Haku somehow ending up in the WWF locker room for a load of beatdowns despite having left WCW less than six months earlier, that's a super loyal company man there

I remember groaning when Vince was replaced by Big Show in the Survivor Series team. Show had barely no credibility at that time and hadn’t been featured in main event storylines like the rest of the teams had. The fact he was the first eliminated in the match didn’t help that perception of him.
Then he had that huge Wrestlemania moment the next year where he hung out at WWF New York. Wrestlemania wooooooooooo!

Big Show together with Haku, Earthquake and Kamala should have defected and make a semi Dungeon of Doom reunion. Quake was Long gone by the Invasion. Well so was Kamala at least as far as wrestling full time goes although both him and Quake were in the Gimmick Battle Royal at Mania that year. Quake also had a tryout dark match around that time although I think it was actually after the Invasion was over at that point as I think it was in like late 01 or early 02. Still kind of crazy to think though that they were thinking about bringing him for another run.

They were always very careful not to turn Big Show face or heel without a good reason and a lot of thought.

Haku somehow ending up in the WWF locker room for a load of beatdowns despite having left WCW less than six months earlier, that's a super loyal company man there That point there does stick out to me; part of the mythology around the nWo is that you could kayfabe say "Vince sent them down to WCW to destroy it from within", and being able to turn that around and have, say, Jericho, Big Show, and a few other former WCW guys turn against the WWF once the invasion storyline began would've been a way to turn that on its head, basically WCW returning the favor by sending sleeper agents to New York. Man, even beyond that invasion story the whole thing about bringing in the nWo and then actually having them basically serve as lackeys for Vince was just god awful. The best part of that would've been either Vince going through with the whole "dose of poison" thing and just sitting back and fiddling while the nWo made the company burn, or have Vince think he can control them ("hey, it worked when I sent them down South!" in kayfabe) only for them to tear him apart. Having Big Show be a part of that could've worked, too, but we all know how that entire angle went down the tubes super quick.

Big Show's booking was usually terrible. Yeah, just keeping it 100 here, but the only time Big Show's booking actually worked was when he was ironically beat to shit, overweight, and had to work a much slower style as ECW champ.

He joins WCW because he's paranoid that Vince is trying to replace him. Don't have him turn heel at WMX7 and save it for the Invasion ppv.

There were a few times where they seemed to get it... the initial Brock feud was done masterfully, unfortunately his credibility was shot. There was a time in, I believe 04, where he returned like 3 weeks before he was scheduled to and destroyed the entire Smackdown roster. And of course they fumbled it.
