"Bryan Danielson? He can't beat anyone, but there was this guy. He beat everyone. He beat Triple H, he beat Batista and Randy Orton. He beat John Cena. I don't know about that Bryan Danielson guy... but Daniel Bryan..."

it’s a shame cause if he really doesn’t care about winning the title and instead getting people over, wouldn’t it make sense for his one run to be really short and then mjf wins?
like get it out of the way and future losses mean someone beat a former champion?

Dude's basically done nothing but choke for the past three years and it makes watching him actively irritating at this point. Really want him to be on top again and it just never happens and it's clearly never going to happen.

Bryan's gotta be the most selfless top guy ever.

Here's the other thing. When did wrestling become about what the wrestler wants? People want to see Bryan Danielson come out on top sometimes, so who gives a f*** if Bryan wants to be a big loser? Does he have creative control over doing as many big jobs as he wants?

I feel like OC and Danielson are both in this weird limbo stage. OC I couldn't stand but AEW and his own efforts made me come to be a fan. Then before I realized it the situation was like cheering for my Indiana Pacers and watching him fail every time. Danielson hurts even more because I have been actively invested as a fan since seeing him live in Chicago Ridge in the early 2000s and I haven't the damn slightest what this is about besides beating to his own drum.

I can't believe we have to have threads like this with a man who's AEW record is 32-7-2 in a year, and just beat Hangman Adam Page and Chris Jericho in back to back weeks
And kicked out of TWO of Moxley's elevated Paradigm Shifts, which no one in wrestling has ever done
Like... Bryan Danielson is perfectly fine, of all people to complain about the booking of, Danielson shouldn't even be anywhere close to this list just because he hasn't won a world title again yet...
And should also say, this wasn't even supposed to HAPPEN, and Danielson stepped up and delivered three straight banger matches, and this was after making Daniel Garcia a damn star, the guy is doing wonders for AEW imo, he'll continue to.

He has been there a year and it feels like the novelty has worn off in regards to it being special seeing him in another company
At the very least I wanted him to win the title and it would been fine if he dropped it to MJF leaving the fans wanting more. He's basically got the same booking Omega did his first year so I am hoping Danielson gets a nice run before he calls it quits or his body breaks down
I assume a monster run is still in the cards but it is not going happen for another year

They already have a story built in with Mox, go ahead and do it Danielson can go and do anything he wants and it'll matter in the company and he proved that with Garcia. Would love to see him in a match with Wardlow tbh

Bryan's gotta be the most selfless top guy ever. He's up there with people like The Rock and while he isn't always mentioned Randy Orton name should be in there as well for people he lost the World title too just in itself

I'm not telling anyone how to feel dude, I'm just saying that it's been a year, Danielson's been one of the top guys in the company, and I think it's pretty odd that we're like "He should go back to WWE and be Daniel Bryan again" or something The dude's having a great run so far, and he just beat Hangman and Jericho... those are two big matches back to back he won, he's been doing a lot of shit up and down the card and in a world title match that wasn't even supposed to happen, he stepped up again The dude's been killing it, he's one of the best for a reason

People can defend it all they want. I don't care what anyone says.
If you win all the build up matches and then lose the big match, you still choked, and it's not fun watching Bryan Danielson choke.

It’s odd because the storyline SEEMED to be Danielson getting redemption against all the guys who beat her before. Garcia, Jericho, Hangman. So you’d THINK it’d make sense for him to win here as well. Especially if Moxley is do a vacation as well.

Yeah, that's kind of the thing with stuff like this and OC and McIntyre. I bet Luger won most of his matches in 1993 too but nobody remembers that because in the end if you lose the big one that's what actually matters.

McIntyre losing and then acting like he did something grand with a sing a long to match made this infinitely worse than someone valiantly losing a title match and just y'know... losing and going on to the next imo.

Great comparison...I agree with all of it...I think I would have been sold on the Lex Express as a young impressionable child too if he would have beaten Yoko proper...I also have given up on Drew even though he is extremely over and booked strong outside of main feuds..
