How much you want to bet he blew most or even all of the money from his retirement match already? Honestly, my first thought was if this is all because he's broke again already.
The man is ill, to be perfectly honest, and needs help. Apparently he's drinking again, so you sort of wonder what's going to finish him off first, the booze or him carrying on wrestling. And that's just depressing.
He's got Conrad taking care of him. He's fine, financially.

Conrad has made a couple of comments on Foley is Pod that basically indicated he knew Flair wasn’t done. I mean, we knew Conrad was a carny. But the last year or so has made me realize he's also garbage

Speaking of Blassie, Flair is around the age Freddie Blassie would have been when he was first working in the WWF mailroom and the charity ambassador. Flair could never settle in with any kind of job like that. I can see him making it to Blassie's age when he died. He's been through so much already, it will probably take something big to get him.

And if he's being truthful, that's great. However, that doesn't absolve him from enabling and profiting off his 73 year old father-in-law going out there and humiliating himself. The guy has a lot of health issue in his history and he has a goddamn pacemaker. Like...he literally could have *died*.

Flair saw the hype Muta v. Sting was getting and he's like hold my rum and coke. Seriously, HHH if this man is your idol and friend, please do the industry a favor and just put him on the payroll as ANYTHING but an in-ring talent. And if you need help coming up with something for him to do, how about you make him WWE's official ambassador of sitting down and shutting the hell up🤔 they already did that he just sat backstage "Woo'ing" at anything that moved and some things that didn't, until they put him into that god awful pregnancy angle that ended due to a real life pregnancy.

Papa H ain’t gonna touch this lol. Even to “lock him down”. Good lord, somebody introduce this man to VR or something. I understand how much of a liability Flair is, and why WWE wouldn't want him in any capacity, hell he probably refuses to be a desk jockey, but the idea that his family and friends are just going to let Ric be Ric and don't see the potential harm is sad. Like, if you were close to him, how would you want Flair to die? Being helped financially and surrounded by people that care, or in some small arena in front of 100 fans that wonder if he'll die in the ring this time? The whole thing is gross and morbid, and when I say potential harm, if Ric does indeed die in a ring somewhere, wouldn't that be another black eye on the industry as a whole for enabling this to happen? Personal responsibility is one thing for a performer, but said performer still needs to be booked and paid, and in Flair's case, it has gotten negligible at this point.

If you've ever had a family member who has/had destructive habits, you know that you can't make them do anything. You can attempt to mitigate it, at least at first, but in the end the story is going to play out how it's going to play out until the person changes. It's rough, it's sad, it's life.

Then do it again, but keep any on-screen appearances short and sweet. No angles. No storylines. Above all else, NO IN RING WORK. Make him the new Farooq. He shows up, says "Woo," then pisses off with some coin in his pocket until the next time.

Which company will hire him though? I'm sure HHH thinks this is nuts, AEW doesnt want him, TNA isnt that desperate, NWA doesnt use legends all that much, the only companies who'll hire him are incredibly skeevy indies (I'm talking stuff that's even lower than CYN). Oh I know one you can look up. Hope they don't get too Furious at me. And they need new legends, instead of trotting out the Sandman every show. This is a company that in recent times used James Ellsworth ("Different" company but I'm almost sure it's still them), and was going to use Velveteen Dream when he was released, but protesting put a stop to that.

This is Flair being IRRESPONSIBLE! He is causing a lot more harm than good doing this and if he does die in the ring, not only would it put a black cloud in the industry but it would put a black eye on his legacy too.
It’s a bit similar to a person who is an alcoholic and is at a bar. They keep on saying they are ok with one last drink. Than it becomes another and another and another.

It's amazing that Flair spent years criticizing guys that he considered not on his calibre, yet he's done everything he could to help destroy the image he's built for himself. Yeah, I don't agree with Shane Douglas, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior...or any of the other guys that Ric tried to swat down over the years, but none of them are as shameless as he is. What's next? Is he going to pull a Virgil and stand outside subway stations begging for money because he's Ric Flair? Ric Flair the person and Ric Flair the wrestler are one in the same. Ric HAS to be the gimmick and he HAS to live the life. And if that means he has to continue to climb in the ring and look more and more embarrassing every time, then he will do it. It's a total facade and Ric does not care. The guy can't end this chapter of his life, because he literally has nothing to show for it without it. Nothing. And that's really sad. How much you want to bet he blew most or even all of the money from his retirement match already? Are you kidding that money was spent including his cut of the gate and merch before they even finished announcing the matches

When he got the cash it didnt even cover a months interest on the credit cards.

I see the Flair situation like how it was with an older cousin of mine. This cousin, will call him Larry, was bad off on hard drugs. We all knew if he didnt quit he would die. But he refused help. So we all just did what we could to help him.
Thankfully Larry went 15 years ago and got clean and is doing good now. But Flair won't get better till flair is ready to get better.

I can’t ever deny this was one of the men who made me a wrestling fan for life, but it’s depressing to see how he’s moving these days.

Translation: "Woo! I need money! Woo!" *Bladejob* "Woo!" *Flair Flop* "Woo!" It'd actually be great if it was something as banal as money. WWE or AEW could throw a decent contract at him to just be a manager, consultant, commentator, etc. This is about him wanting to be a performer still, and as others have said, he may genuinely want to die in the ring.
