Just saw in an interview by HHH recently, that Rey is the one person he wished he could have have worked with, but never did. Their paths only crossed a handful of times throughout the years.
What do you think? Would you have liked a Triple H v Rey Mysterio program anywhere in the 20 years they could have had one?

Trip would have verbally trashed Rey, worked a long and plodding match that exposed every weakness Rey had, no sold most of Reys offense, and taken Reys finisher multiple times only for one Pedigree to end the match.

It would have either been terrible like Feyrhausen's saying, or it'd have ended up being good. I do imagine Triple H probably wins, regardless, but if he's willing to give him something like he did with TAKA, then it could be good, at least.

On a good day, it's a back and forth with HHH coming out on top, barely. Respect spot at the end. On a bad day, "Hmmm, this Mystery-guy can pinball sell my shit, than I win and roars in triumph" - HHH. Maybe. Probably.

They worked together really well in the 2006 Rumble. Those two plus Orton really carried that match.
It is surprising that they never had a singles match. Even if it wasn't a major PPV match they could have easily had a Raw/Smackdown match at some point over the years.
According to cagematch the only times they interacted on TV were the 2006 and 2009 Rumbles, they were on the same Survivor Series team in 2007, they teamed together in a 6 man tag on a 2010 Raw (the one when most of the roster was stranded in Europe and this was actually one of HHH's final ever TV matches) and the SNME from before Wrestlemania 22 that had HHH and Cena v Mysterio, Angle and Orton.

Didn't HHH think Angle was not a believable world champion due to his size? Angle was an Olympic gold medalist who in a real life fight would have bent Hunter like a pretzel in 12 seconds. No chance 2000's HHH makes Rey look good.

I’ll never get tired of that story. as for HHH vs. Rey probably the only time that it could have happened and Rey would look good and maybe win a few was directly after Eddie’s death when they’re were in full on exploitation mode. Probably would have been some uncomfortable segments though.

It probably helped the TAKA classic tremendously that Triple H hadn’t had any big injuries or “bulked up” to incredulous levels at that point in time. Even if Triple H wanted to sell for Rey, I don’t think he’d be capable of keeping up with him.
