AEW will no longer air on Space, a network owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
AEW has announced that Dynamite and Rampage will no longer air on Space in Mexico, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. There’s no word yet on why the programming was pulled. AEW will continue to air in Brazil.
AEW encouraged fans to subscribe to the AEW Plus service through FITE TV.
Space will continue to air AAA wrestling on Friday evenings.
It was announced in October 2021 that AEW and Space re-signed their original contract, which began in November 2020. Dynamite had been airing live on Wednesday nights with replays during the week. Rampage aired on Fridays via the Space YouTube channel. However, it was announced back in May that Dynamite would move to the Space YouTube channel in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Which is strange to see now as the Lucha side of things is becoming more heavy in AEW with Rush signing and the possible Bandido signing. Not a good thing to see.

They must be just as upset as I am that Bandido hasn't been pushed to the moon yet.

There's a difference between a show being pulled from the air and a contract just not being renewed... which is it?

Not really, unless AEW actually wanted to move off TV and be exclusively on FITE TV in those areas for some reason. In 2005, Spike TV decided to not offer WWE a new deal for Raw but kept airing the show for several months after making that decision because they had to based on their contract.

I disagree, when I hear that a show is pulled then I think something happened on that show that upset the network execs... remember when MTV pulled the 4th episode of WSX? But a contract not being renewed is just business. I'm bringing it up because the title makes this sound more scandalous than it probably is.

Whether AEW did something wrong or it was just a financial decision or something else, Space decided to stop airing the show. They won't be airing it anymore by their own choice.

It’s mildly amusing that they put out a statement to their fans in those markets but only put it out in English

Hi, I live in Perú and I can tell you that AEW in Space went bad really fast.
It started out with Dynamite: they would show it a week later. Then, it went live on Wednesdays and all was right in the world. They would even show the FITE feed, so no commercials during matches or picture in picture. All was well.
Then Rampage went live...on Space's Youtube channel. And here is were the problems started: since it was on YT, there's no SAP feature, meaning you were stuck with the spanish commentary. Now, why is this bad? Well, on TV, everyone watched the show in english because the AEW spanish announce team is by far the f***ing worst announce team in the world. Most members of the team are not really native speakers so pronunciation was very off, but that can be forgiven. After all, I'm not a native english speaker so I know I write and talk a bit weird, so I get it. However, they are annoying, distracting, constantly shouting with no insight whatsover and all with screaching voices. But hey, at least you could watch Dynamite in english.
Then about 3 months ago Dynamite went from TV to YT as well, meaning no more english commentary anywhere (legally), since part of the deal was that you couldn't get Dynamite on FITE as long as Space held the rights to broadcast. It hurt the quality of the show a lot and made people just straight up stop watching.
I can give you no insight on why the deal is off. All I can say is I'm glad its over so I'll be able to watch it on FITE and never ever hear the spanish announce team again.

But yeh Fite.TV is pretty good, no reason to not keep using it if the money isnt good

So we've gone from AEW being dropped to AEW deciding not to renew the contract themselves. Hahaha, never change.
