I’ve been an AEW fan from day one. I know they’re not a perfect wrestling product, and there are things on the shows I’m not a fan of, but in my opinion, they’re hitting more than they’re missing right now.
So to see troll comments on all AEW’s social media posts, troll comments under articles on wrestling news sites, even my old school friends who I’ve been watching wrestling over 30 years are shitting on AEW in a WhatsApp group we’re all in. It’s also the reason I don’t post or visit here as much as I used to, even though some of the criticism posts are a lot nicer and insightful than the trolls.
So, for me personally, tough time to be an AEW fan right now.

I find troll comments on social media annoying but easier to ignore, when the person comes across like they have single digit IQ you just think "thank f*** I don't like the same things you like". But yeah it's a lot harder when it's your actual friends. I have a stag do in Amsterdam coming up and two of the guys going are mutual friends that I used to talk about wrestling a fair bit with, one was a big AEW fan as the company had just started, but watched WWE too and another was a big WWE fan, particularly HHH's NXT, but refused to watch AEW despite his preference being ring work over anything else. Absolutely dreading any conversations about wrestling coming up there really.

Bischoff has to be one of the weirder AEW hater hanger ons. I swear I've hit "not interested" on youtube for his content but him and a shitload of other podcasts with like 2K views per video still show up. I watched one of his episodes with Conrad Thompson (who I also can't typically stand but to a much lesser degree) and it was so f***ing awkward. Eric is living in a fantasy land and there's this weird ass dynamic where you can tell Conrad doesn't want to piss him off more, it makes for awful viewing. When it comes to Bischoff and AEW, it's TK's comment awhile back about Ted Turner that's caused his hatred. You can say a lot of negative shit about Bischoff, but he's always been loyal to Turner Pretty sure it's the grift, since he has worked with Vince McMahon who made like Ted Turner was some Super Villian.

I think he'd find a way to be less mad about that if he got offered a nice paycheck.

If Tony offered either of them a job they'd suddenly be talking up AEW as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Neither of them has any integrity and will just say whatever for attention.

Shame how it turned out, as Bischoff was really well-used/well-received on his AEW cameo.

So, for me personally, tough time to be an AEW fan right now. Yeah, riffing on AEW has become so trendy that it's a rough time to be an AEW fan in the IWC at-large right now. 95% of people who "hate" AEW very clearly don't even watch and can't even articulate why. And, what's worse, is that I think that a lot of the more pro-AEW forums have kind of overcompensated to a point where even reasonable criticism of AEW is instantly rebuked (r/AEWofficial is a good example), or, on more neutral forums, people act put upon when others push back against criticism of AEW at all because it's just expected that everyone hates "Tiny Con" and his "play wrestling company." It's very frustrating. One of the main reasons I tend to prefer posting here these days.

According only to Cornette ,know reliable source Interestingly, the Bucks claimed in their whole "Cornette approached us at a con acting like old buddies and said we had the 'only program working everyone', it skeeved us out because what the f***" story that they were never going to work with Cornette, so beyond all the other ways the idea doesn't pass the sniff test or comes off like he wants to say "No it's not because of job stuff, I shot them down they needed me and my wisdom and I didn't want to give it to them", it's really hard to believe everyone around Tony did not hard veto the f*** out of it.

I have a completely unfounded suspicion TK wanted Cornette purely as an on screen manager like Jake and Tully but Jim was only interested if he could have a creative role.

I hear Cornette hasn't left his house in six years because he got his dick, half his scrotum, and a quarter of his prolapsed anus stuck in a honey pot and it's really embarrassing.

I’m not entirely sure when AEW would have been seriously considering bringing Corny in, considering his totally non-racist “starvation” joke happened literally like a week into the company’s existence, and he’s been more or less blacklisted from the industry since then.
I honestly think that’s why he’s leaned so heavily into trying to be wrestling’s Howard Stern these last 5 years.

Dax getting his ass kicked in the parking garage made me laugh so much. He looks like a drunk dad fighting at his son's high school football game.
