So far, it’s not so bad.
When I was younger and first saw some of the changes I found them off putting. But now that I’m an adult and I’ve sat through the entire dbz tv and movie series, then dragon ball super, I felt burnt out on “must get stronger” “scream until transformation” fight so I decided to give OG dragon ball a chance. And I really liked it.
It was a nice change of pace seeing young goku, while dumber, a lot more violent and straight to the point of killing his enemies.
So watching gt again, i actually welcome a return yo young goku, and I am enjoying the easier to digest adventure based episodes where they deal with annoying people and other cultures with bad guys they eventually annihilate.
Though, yeah it is still weird some characters all aged after watching Og dragon ball. Especially vegeta with a mustache.
And the weird issue of “why is there an extra older set of dragon balls in the look out tower if the dragon balls die with Namek who created them or they were replaced by the new Kami”.

Never sat through most of GT, but if I remember right Toriyama basically gave them a framework to start out with and then moved to just being a producer (though he got final OK over a lot of stuff); I think you can tell he wanted to go back to Dragon Ball's roots, hence kid Goku and the kinds of stories in the first arc. After no doubt getting burned out by the kinds of stuff the Shonen Jump people probably kept telling him to add more of in DBZ, I can get where he was coming from.
And hey, it gave us this moment, so it can't be all bad.

I liked it up until the Super 17 Saga. It got really bad at that point.

It peaks and valleys. They wanted the comedic Dragonball tone and then said f*** it let's go back to Z style of things. Baby is a good saga and a little surprised they haven't tried to make that canon yet as the tuffles and him but the and Super 17 is best things going for it as far as sagas go

I just love that the plot is kicked off by Pilaf (one of the best DB villains don't @ me), who then just f***s off again.

I hate a lot of it, though I thought there were some great ideas and designs. Really wasn't a fan of the music and I was always more of a DBZ fan than DB, so going back to those roots didn't work for me.

I'm glad they tried to take it back to its roots, as I felt that by the end of Z, power levels were reaching the point where Goku sneezing should cause a supernova.

I'm a giant Dragon Ball fan since I was 9 and even I'll admit GT is no good.

The two highlights of the show were baby saga and porn Stache Vegeta.
After that not good.
Though when English dub came out some mates of mine did a grindcore version of Funimation opening theme called Dragonball GC.
Step into the grindcore grindcore grindcore.... Dragonball GC

I have to say, I'm enjoying this Baby arc.
It's an interesting backstory, and it actually makes sense for a new villain. My main gripe with the dragon ball series was "how they gonna keep making villains stronger after the last one was so godlike" after Freeza? It makes sense to just have a parasite who can steal the body of one the regular characters. Vegeta is already as strong as Goku, so taking over his body and upping his powers even a little makes him stronger than Goku. Also, the other parasites deal with the other strong characters like Gohan. Also, it's harder to kill the villain when he's in your friend's body.
Though, my one question is:
If King Vegeta is the one who conquered the planet, then that means the Saiyans only lived there one generation, since it exploded when Vegeta was a child. Not much time to stake claim to Planet Vegeta as the Saiyan homeland. Makes Freiza destroying it not as awful. Also, I thought that was Frieza's technology not the Tsufrujins.
Also, people who watched the dub, how did they Translate TsuFrujins? Seems like a bit of a mouthful and the pun is lost. Not to mention the don't usually add the Jin at the end.

Okay, I’m at the end of the baby saga where the earth blows up and piccolo finally shows up.
Why does he have a flashback to fighting gohan, mentions how strong his Kame game ha is, and he’s still bleeding? When did they fight? I didn’t see that scene? Unless Hulu skipped through it agin like the issues I’ve been having with their movies
