This was a thought I had having recently watched Wrestling With Wregret's video on Savage in WCW.
Now, let's admit it: Savage's rise to the top, whether that story about Honky Tonk Man not wanting to lose the IC title is true or not, was severely helped at the time in WWF by being a major ally to Hulk Hogan up until the Mega Powers explosion.
But fast forward to 1994, with Savage getting annoyed at being held at the desk and hosting duties in the company, ready to make the jump. But in this timeline, let's say that something happens with Hogan that keeps him out of WCW. Yes, this would hamper things a bit as the nWo wouldn't be the historic force in the long run, but this would also mean WCW for 94-early 96 wouldn't be the "Hulkamania Revival Tour" that I've heard joked about.
This would also mean than some of the rising stars at the time might not have been pushed out like they were, even with a bigger name like Savage going around (especially with past stories being that Savage wanted to put over Michaels in WWF).
How well do you think Savage's career in a Hogan-less WCW would have gone? We saw glimpses of what might have been in his feud with Flair...after that would he have been a top heel at some point? Him and Sting perhaps having a WCW style Mega Powers situation somehow? Either way I don't see any World Title wins he would have in this version of WCW only lasting one day like it did twice before.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

He's have had at least one decent length title reign, that's for sure.

Yeah, I think he would have been their top babyface for a while, probably eventually turning heel and being Sting's foil.
Imagine how cool this would have been, and if Hogan didn't debut until BatB '96 as the third member of the Outsiders.

Better than it was probably. Savage always had potential to be in Hogan's spot but he never was both in WWF and WCW.
