I like they emphasized the lack of ropes and turn buckled so you have to wrestle differently.
My only issue, is that some things didn’t translate from nxt.
First, they used to start at the top and jump in, making it look more like a pit. The camera work also, used to be higher, once again so it looks like you’re looking down in a pit. That smaller cwc arena and the weird darkish lighting of nxt black and gold, made the match look more intimate and tighter like you’re trapped in a very small room with a bunch of blood thirsty fans. The main roster makes it looks just like a cage match.

It was fine.
But I think the old NXT aesthetic really lent itself to the concept in a way that the more flashily MR one doesn’t necessarily.

I was just waiting and wondering what was going on with Wyatt. Really didn’t pay much actual attention to the match.
Cormier seemed absolutely unnecessary from what I noticed.

Lastnight felt like a safe version of it which puts it as the weakest of all fight pit matches. The NXT fight pit looked like it was made to f***ing hurt you.

It was pretty good but in my head I think I was expecting like a blowaway match of the year candidate which it wasn't. Imperium/Brutes, Balor/Edge and Bianca/Bayley were all better.

I love the concept, but I think it's better suited as an NXT thing. Last night's just didn't have the grittiness of the other two. It all just felt too... polished, I guess?

The match was in a bad spot with it being the last match and by that point everyone only cared when or how Bray was going to show up. Sucks for Seth and Riddle cuz they really worked their asses off

What I liked about it is how in presentation and execution it seems like the Fight Pit is the most protected match type we've had in WWE in a long time. I can see it as something having the same mystique that Hell in a Cell used to have as the ultimate feud ender.

I would rather see a BBQ Pit match. Maybe next time they go to Kansas City.

I found it pretty boring. I feel like the overall build was great but their matches have lacked the intensity of this blood feud.

Maybe just me but I couldn't get into it at all. Much opeferred their match at Clash at the Castle

Same, for the most part. Like, I'm glad Riddle got the win and hope this is the end of the feud, but yeah, I was wanting the Bray Wyatt stuff to happen. Also they might need to re-tune the rules of the Fight Pit if they're going to do it again; why even have the platform if you have to win in the ring? And for how contrived it was for Rollins and Riddle to even get up there, it's a little dumb you can't win up there.

Thought it was weird how it transformed into a modified scaffold match for a bit to set up the big senton from Riddle.
Other than that, it was fine. Cormier getting his 'YOU AREN'T FIGHTING ME!' bit with both guys was amusing.

I agree that the fight pit works better on NXT than the main roster. It's just suited to being smaller and grittier.
Something like war games I think will be the complete opposite. I think that will seem like a way bigger deal on the main roster in front of a massive crowd with big name stars.

i liked it a lot actually!
they just need to change up the camera work. when it was done in nxt, it came off as "these two dudes have nowhere to go except to beat the shit out of each other" while the way it was filmed made the ring look as big as a building
change up the camera work and i think people would think much differently about it on the main roster

I also preferred the NXT version. The previous fight pits felt brutal, this one was too flashy, and polished.
Also lose the freaking neon zoomies on the scaffolding bit.
Kinda hard to take seriously when it's making me want to play Mario Kart.
