If he was good enough to make the NFL and decided to wrestle instead, that wasn't a wise decision. Of course it was, if he wasn't a wrestler, he wouldnt be who he is today. No way he gets into acting after NFL Also unless he would’ve been an All Pro caliber NFL player (which is unlikely considering his college career) he wouldn’t have made anywhere close to the amount of money he likely made from 1998-2002 in wrestling. During The Rock’s heyday, the top quarterbacks in the NFL, who are almost always the highest paid players, were making a around $10 million a year. There have been reports that Austin was making $10-12 million a year during the Attitude Era. Rock was probably close. He wasn’t going to make that as a backup defensive lineman.

I imagine Austin was making more, but Rock maybe caught up since he stuck around a few years after him. This was also I think when the video games were making the guys a lot of money, which, I am not really sure the same was the case in the NFL.

In my dad’s words, if Dwayne Johnson hadn’t gone into wrestling “he wouldn’t have been parking cars.” I could have seen him taking another crack a football, perhaps bodybuilding, or becoming a stuntman. He wasn’t going to starve without wrestling. If he was good enough to make the NFL and decided to wrestle instead, that wasn't a wise decision. Correct me if I’m wrong, but he was a college football player. He played a season for the cfl while waiting for the NFL tryouts but got injured. He then trained as a wrestler and got signed by WWE. Dud I miss anything?

I feel if he were to catch on with the mainstream and make appearances in comedy movies, Danhausen could potentially fit this. Even in wrestling, he doesn't need to wrestle to get over. So I can see him making it elsewhere too.

Per wiki he was mostly a backup at Miami, and while he made a CFL practice squad he was still cut two months into the season. So basically sounds like he would absolutely rock people in pickup games, but he was not close to good enough to do it at the highest level.
