Not to mention Graham was also only like 5'7". And Sid was 6'9". Like you have that big of a size advantage and you have to get a weapon? And a squeegee of all things? I have to wonder if Sid just didn't especially want to get into an actual fight. Obviously, he can win one, he did here, but it also went a really f***ed up direction. Maybe his heart just wasn't in the Graham one, hence how it got so ridiculous. Sid is an odd one. The initial fight was between Brian Pillman and Sid. According to what JR and Cornette have said either guy would have gotten the better of Sid as both were legit bad ass'. Pillman played pro football... in the 80's! Sid played recreational softball. That should tell you all you need to know about the difference in the pedigrees of the 2 men.

I know a squeegee is an unconventional weapon in a bar fight and not the first thing most people would reach for, but I never understood why it's become such a joke. It's a joke because Sid didn't bring a squeegee into a bar. A squeegee is something they have at gas stations. People typically don't have a squeegee in their car, but they have other things. Sid actually went to his car and got an ice scraper/ice brush. Still not the most threatening weapon, but still could do damage. How this got turned into a squeegee is beyond me, but squeegee is a funny word, so that's why it became a joke.

An ice scraper?! 🤣 All these years I've been giving Squeegee Sid a pass. 🤦♂️

does anyone know the name of the Hotel? Blackburn isn't too far away from me and i'm there sometimes, so a trip down Sid vs Arn way would be fun.

For those of you who think Arn nearly dying, and Sid getting fired was an exaggeration it should be noted that THESE were the scissors Sid used.

In fact, Foley just spoke how he and Sting used a squeegee in a match days later as a rib.

It literally makes no sense that Sid would have a squeegee in his car. I'm sure that someone who leaked the story inadvertently called it a squeegee instead of a scraper. It's such a legend now that everyone is going to say it's a squeegee regardless.

I have an ice scraper in my car because I live in Canada. They were in Atlanta. Why would Sid need an ice scraper in the summer in the south?

I have an ice scraper in my car as well, something I keep in my car throughout the year. I can't tell you why Sid would need it in the summer in the south, but I can tell you he'd need it more than he'd need a squeegee.

Blackburn isn't too far away from me and i'm there sometimes, so a trip down Sid vs Arn way would be fun. from memory I think it was the islington on Bolton Road which is right across the road from the Blackburn ice arena, but that's dragging up memories from 30ish years ago. it makes sense as it was close to the arena, cheap and on one of the main roads out of the town centre. annoyingly it's pre-internet archives so without looking it up in the library for the old lancashire evening telegraph archives I can't confirm it 100% as google only brings up the fight happening here but not where. **edit** asked on twitter and someone said may have been the Windmill Hotel on Preston New Road. Blackburn being what it is there hasn't been many hotels in the town for the last 30 years (got a few new ones in the last few years.)

Using Mike Graham as a source of any information is only slightly better than using Bat Boy.

Using Mike Graham as a source of any information is only slightly better than using Bat Boy. I guess using the unnamed source that claimed it was a squeegee is a better source. Or maybe using Sting or Foley who heard about it second hand.

in the "squeegee' story it was never stated Sid got it from his car and it was always stated he got it from a gas station nearby as it was the only thing he could find in the area that late at night.

Why the f*** would you pick a fight with Sid? Because he has half the brain that you do. The altercation forced WCW to change plans for that year’s Starrcade, as Vader was supposed to defend the world title against Sid. WCW fired Sid after the incident and replaced him with Ric Flair. I often wonder what a match between the former Masters of the Power Bomb would have been like. It would have been f***ing brilliant. Did they ever face each other in WCW? Or anywhere else?

Most notably a one on one #1 Contender Match at In Your House Buried Alive in which Sid won.

I’m not sure they did anything besides take turns yelling “Who’s the man?!!!” I remember nothing else.

If I remember correctly, the entire build was about which man had the better Powerbomb and who would powerbomb the other. And then Sid won with a Chokeslam.
