So for the past few months I've been selling my old comics and trade paperbacks on eBay with decent results. Last weekend I decided to visit my Dad's house to get some more books that I had stored in his basement, and while going through them I found something I don't remember ever getting.
Basically it was a small baseball card binder. It's a hard plastic cover with ten 4x4 baseball card sleeves. It has the Yankees emblem on the front, along with "1993" and "Donruss". It has a couple of cards in it, but I don't follow baseball too closely and the only names I recognize are Danny Tartabull and Randy Velarde. I think I got this as some kind of promotion at the old Yankee Stadium as around that time my Uncle would occasionally take me, my sister and cousin there for games.
It's a long shot but I'm curious if anybody who's into baseball cards might know if it's worth anything? I might put it up on eBay.

I’m not an expert but I believe this is around the time baseball cards took a nosedive into being worthless.
Someone who knows better might be able to help, but my immediate reaction is it’s not worth much.

For collectors, late 80s and early 90s cards are called junk cards and aren't worth much more than the paper they're printed on. If you have a full set of the Yankees team that year you might have something for the right buyer (a Yankees fan) but you're not sitting on a pot of gold.

I honestly wasn't expecting the cards themselves to be worth much, but I thought maybe it being a special collection obtained through a Yankee Stadium promotion with the signature sleeve book might make it worth a couple extra bucks to a collector. I guess not. Thanks everybody for your assistance.

I guess not. Thanks everybody for your assistance. Find a guy who is a huge Yankee fan during that era and it’s worth something. Something is only worth what people will pay.

Yeah, the junk wax era of cards aren't normally worth very much. The best way to gauge if something is worth anything IMO, especially cards, is to search it on eBay and filter results to sold items. It'll show you what people actually paid for it in the last 3 months. The nice thing about cards is that almost all of them have the maker company and year on the back, so it's easy to know what you have.

I don’t know what got into his head, but a buddy of mine bought 9 Gretzky Rookie Cards for like $90. While he’s busy spending his new found millions in his head, it crosses his mind maybe he should see if they’re real. They were repros.
So, worthless.
