I got Trevor Murdoch being pushed to an extent for a time, but Tyrus? Never.
Either way, it's wild pushing these two while goddamn Chris Adonis(Masters), Elijah Burke, and Homicide are all options, among others.

This is a case of Billy Corgan thinking people will follow Tyrus into his everyday work because they like the shit he spews on television. They won't.
If they had an actual TV deal, maybe, maybe, I'd get it. But they don't.

Remember when Paul Heyman put the ECW title on Justin Credible? That's what this reminds me of.

Trevor Murdoch has an old school NWA vibe. I get him. Tyrus sucks!

To paraphrase a comment I saw on Reddit, Tyrus wrestles as sluggishly for real as Orange Cassidy pretends to

Remember when Paul Heyman put the ECW title on Justin Credible? That's what this reminds me of. at least Justin could go out there and have a different match every now and again Yeah its probably not a fair comparison if I'm honest. He was a shite world champ but outside of that he was a good wrestler and people by and large seem to actually like him as a person

He was a shite world champ but outside of that he was a good wrestler and people by and large seem to actually like him as a person Justin Credible is synonymous with putting the belt on someone because they won't leave, regardless of their ability. Tyrus isn't that. Tyrus is someone that Corgan is adamantly pushing regardless of all other factors. It's not like Chris Adonis or Trevor Murdoch is going anywhere (as far as we know, anyway). Tyrus as NWA champion is more like the ultimate vanity promotion booking choice. It's a choice that was seeded from the first episode of Powerrr when Jim Cornette crowed about how the NWA was where "real men" wrestled. It's the choice of someone who cares about a particular aesthetic of wrestling, and he's willing to see business die to enact it. Like I said in the NWA thread, it's like the ultimate self-parodying end of a focus on size over all other factors: Dude Big. Dude Win.

Tyrus looks like someone could make him have a heart attack just by getting him to chase them around for 30 seconds. That doesn’t exactly say “credible champion.”

I think Tyrus might be the worst wrestler of all time to ever make it to a national level. Like, in the entire history of professional wrestling. And that's notwithstanding the fact that he's a trashcan of a human being.

I was going to say Kurrgan but yeah it is almost a given that giants are terrible. It's almost like you are limited to 1 good one per generation. I don't remember him being that bad in WWE, but maybe it was just papered over by the Funkasaurus gimmick Currently on the national stage, for sure. All time I'd have to think about. There are probably some contenders in the Divas era women, but that almost feels unfair to the women to include them.

I don't think I've ever looked into it, so now is a good a time as any... but how did Tyrus of all people get a job as a news person?

Remember he said women "can't wrestle NWA style"? Little did we know it was a compliment.

Tyrus is big but he’s the wrong kind of big. He’s not solid like Vader or Umaga or someone like that, he looks like a literal sack of shit. Haven’t seen him wrestle in years but I can’t imagine that he’s improved since then either.
Funkonocerous by Smashing Pumpkins
Planned a show Tyrus was the main event How could I not now Ticket sales would be nonexistent
[Verse 2] Could have known That this would fail Should have known That I can’t put this up for sale
[Chorus] They know And they know, they know, they know And they know, they know, they know It’s shit They know, they know, they know. But they know, they know.
[Verse 3] The fans know After the main I should go Book another thing Some other way
[Chorus] They know And they know, they know, they know And they know, they know, they know It’s shit They know, they know, they know. But they know, they know.
[Bridge] Go ask Lou Thesz If this is a success Go ask Lou Thesz If this is a success The NWA!?
[Chorus] They know And they know, they know, they know And they know, they know, they know It’s shit They know, they know, they know. But they know, they know.

I think, as all great modern relationships do, Tyrus' relationship with FOX News started when he and Greg Gutfield agreed with each other on Twitter. Gutfield invited him on and the rest is history.
