I remember hearing an interview with Billy Corgan where he was positioning the NWA as a feeder for WWE & AEW. Tyrus isn't that. More like Tyrus would feed on talent from both.

Billy’s not going to get any Everlasting Gazes from this booking. His buyrates are gonna be nothing but Zeros. Seriously, fan wise, who are the least interesting part of the Funkadactyls and Jethro Holliday supposed to be an Ode To? No One. Today is not the greatest day for NWA if they insist on strapping a Rocket to Tyrus.

Being completely sincere here the best thing Tyrus was ever involved with was that sick knee to the head he got from Alberto and even that was just due to him being a massive f***-up.

Was that the time the camera just cut to him after a while and he was on the outside with his head in a pool of blood?

I was shouting after there first PPV to build up Da Pope. Could have made a huge deal of a guy finally getting his due. Nah, Tyrus big, and big wrestler win. I'm a big Pope fan. WHY is not the guy in the NWA I never know. The guy IMO the best promo guy in the company. Solid worker. Massively over at every show I been at. Trevor Murdoch I got why he was champion. The story he and Nick had going into 73 was a good story and made a lot of sense. It was the stuff after that match is when Nick Aldis said the company went south. I guess who they book Trevor against and Nick issue on how not much came out of the breaking up of Strictly Business. Which I agree there should be more to that. I said it the other thread I could name 10 guys all better choices than Tyrus to be champion.

I thought this was referring to his TV title run, but I can't believe they made him World champion.
There's literally no cross over appeal between a wrestling audience and that unfunny Fox show that he appears on. Like none.

He’s got a good look and is decent enough in the ring but it seems like he can’t get a break anywhere. It’s weird.

They put the North American title on him for a time, so clearly NWA like him to an extent, but short of him just not wanting it, I have no idea what the deal is. Seems like a nice enough dude in interviews and I don't recall anyone explicitly calling him out for anything. Like the only mark against him outside of when he had wellness issues was hurting Stevie Richards with a Polish Hammer once, and even then, that sort of thing just happens sometimes.

By most accounts, Adonis is a pretty cool guy.

I don't know how he not champion or really had a title shot for the World title. More baffled how he didn't have a match at the PPV either.
