I never understood this, and why didn't they even get phased when they suddenly were kids again?

That's the way the game is played.
Why do no one complain Zarthura or whatever, was the exact same movie?

Yeah I never really got that either. Like at the Christmas party at the end, they obviously remember the kids and everything, but do the kids remember them?
It dosent make sense.

Okay, time for an In-Depth Spectacular look!
As I recall, the kid (I do NOT remember his name) got sucked into the game, and thus in order to get everything back the way it was, you had to finish the game! And since the game was finished in the future, everything went back to the way it was, even the time period.
So remember. If you ever do anything in-between a 30 year old game of Monopoly, you might be sucked back to the time when you started the game.

Sadly, you have to go to Dane Cook to find out what happens 4 hours into a game of Monopoly. He's pretty much bang on about that.

As for the adults not phased about being kids again, the way I see it is that they had horrible lives growing up. The girl grew up with psychological problems because she saw her friend get sucked into a board game. As for the guy, he spent 30 years in a jungle, having to fight dangerous animals and being hunted by that crazy british dude. Then, they got a second chance at a new and better life. Would you be upset that you got a chance to turn your crappy life into a better one?

I don't think the kids remembered them for the simple reason that the game was transported back to 1967 and the kids weren't born till after then. But still it is confusing i guess.

(at least for me, I didn't look at your profile) Oh, I'm 24, but fortunately I'm Canadian, so I skate on the "14 is legal, so long as you're not in a position of authority" law. I'm pretty sure "unfunny jackass on Internet message board" is not, in any way, authoritariative.

Some aren't funny, some are jackasses. But you've got to have that certain "it" factor to pull it all together to be an unfunny jackass.

I never understood this, and why didn't they even get phased when they suddenly were kids again? ok, here's how it went down. first the game started with the kiddies. robin williams gets sucked in to the game. the new kiddies pick up the game many years later and roll the right number. this occurence made the board game spit up robin. they then went to find bonnie hunt because it was her turn (from a long time ago) they then finished the game, and everything got sucked back in. the world then went back to the way it previously was.

Cool movie, I enjoyed it.
They were taken back to 1967 because presumably the timeline that existed when the game was left incomplete was part of the "exciting consequences of the game that would not vanish until the game was completed" that the rules written on the game itself made very clear.

Would you be upset that you got a chance to turn your crappy life into a better one? Not to mention the rest of the town. Old man Parish spent most of his fortune in finding Allen and ignored his shoe factory. Had to sell it and whoever bought it just stopped using that factory and it's workers. The town lost most of it's business and even before the animals came in, was homeless riddled. I bet they'd like a second chance.
