It's really sad he never got in while he was Alive. His Induction in 2015 was nothing like it could have been. I'd say a Randy Savage Speech around 2004/05 would have been the perfect time. Probably 04 because 05 was Hogan's induction and you can't have two megastars like in the same Year. So 2004 would have been the Year to do it i feel like.

No offense to Ted DiBiase, but Savage would have been a better 2010 headliner than him. Not to say DiBiase didn't deserve the recognition, but maybe not as a headliner.

2006 Savage instead of Eddie Guerrero 2008 Savage instead of Ric Flair 2009 Savage instead of Steve Austin 2010 Savage just included, headline induction 2011 Savage instead of Shawn Michaels
WWE has this tendency to immediately induct someone as soon as the person is "retired" or dead. I really don't like this policy, and the same thing applies to Edge a year later. It's as if Vince felt if they didn't do it immediately, that the fanbase would forget. However, I always felt that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and waiting a little longer with a few of these people, it would have felt a lot more special. I know it's controversial to not include Austin in 2009, but again I think waiting a few more years wouldn't have hurt.

Somewhere in the Mid-2000s would have been the best time, but even if WWE and Savage were talking at the end of his life, I feel like the wounds were still too fresh. 2003 was when Elizabeth had died, and I don't get the impression Vince would have been keen to see Savage during that period, even if he had no involvement with that.
I do wonder if Luger's going to get into the Hall of Fame now that Vince is out of the picture.

I am pretty sure he was considered one of the years but he wanted the family to go in, which wasnt on the cards. I have a feeling it would have been 2010 which is why that year was pretty small and Ted Dibiase was the headliner. It was also after they released a Savage DVD in 2009 so they certainly had him on the radar at that time
And I think 2012 was originally supposed to be Ultimate Warrior, hence why Four Horseman joined Edge to beef it up a bit

I don't remember who headlined 2006 but that sounds like the right time. Couldn't do it in 2005 where he plays second fiddle to Hogan like most of his career.

Couldn't do it in 2005 where he plays second fiddle to Hogan like most of his career. 2006 was double headlined by Eddie's posthumous induction and Bret Hart. While Savage has more mainstream eyes than Bret, I don't know if I would have sacrificed Bret headlining that year or not, especially with Savage sharing with Eddie.

Definitely wouldn't have been the right year for Macho Man then either.

It was Ted DiBiase who was the headliner. While DiBiase was indeed a lock for the Hall of Fame, was he really headline worthy at that time?

2004. Ten years since his last match with the federation, back at msg where he had his last match, & he would've been the headliner. Would've been perfect

I don't think Macho would have fit the 2004 theme. Other than Pete Rose those guys were guys who fit more in the era of pre Wrestlemania, like the guys who helped Vince build to the era of Wrestlemania while the next year's class guys took over the reigns and became the bigger stars. Macho was post Wrestlemania 85 so he didn't exactly fit the 2004 theme and also not 2005. 2006 had Bret and 2007 had Dusty and honestly I think Macho would have done just as good or better as the headliner. 2007 was mainly territory guys and Dusty as huge as he was probably got the top billing because he was working for WWE. 2010 would be the only other year Macho could legit go over as a headliner versus the other headliners. If he had lived to 2012 I see him going over Edge.
