Damn. If you think that Brock only half-asses things sometimes now imagine him in that period of TNA. LMAO

TNA was on a legit tight budget and couldn't just get Dixie's parents to send more money whenever they needed it. So that was unlikely to happen. And knowing TNA's audience, they'd pop a relatively higher buyrate for Brock coming in (probably like 80K) but then return to normal levels so it's not like he'd bring in enough to make it worth the investment. And keep in mind this is pre-UFC Brock. His UFC run added a lot to who he was so having him just coming off of his New Japan run wouldn't have been game changing or anything.

I think I kind of come down on the side that they were right to? Like obviously it looks absurd in hindsight, especially with the amount of big names who slummed it in TNA in subsequent years, but he didn't really have any meaningful momentum at that point from his outside ventures and had kind of flamed out in WWE in a way where people didn't really seem to particularly miss him. If they couldn't afford to bring in another expensive name at that point I get why they wouldn't have signed him since he probably wouldn't have actually added much.

Damn never heard that before. Lesnar was to huge for Tna at any point. But just think about what matches we could have got around 07/08 for many the Prime Yeas of Tna. Lesnar/Samoa Joe, Lesnar/Angle, Lesnar/Sting. So yeah that would have been great as a Fan if he had short run there.

Classic matches we missed out on.

Lesnar vs. Nigel/Wolfe is definitely intriguing to me if he stuck around until 2009

Crazy how different wrestling might be today if that actually happened. This was before Lesnar was UFC Champion so might not've been a big deal then but if he were still allowed to do that and he were UFC Champion and TNA Champion at the same time that could've really skyrocketed TNA.

And Spike would have likely done business with both thus raising all tides. Super interesting

Brock would have never have stood for the amateurish behaviour in TNA, he'd be one of those guys they'd have for either a one off or a month or so before they quit.

Well, Brock does like getting paid a lot for not working a lot of dates. But yeah, I don't think he was all that interested in wrestling at that point in time. Kurt is probably taking a couple creative liberties with the story.

Brock was checked out of wrestling at the time. His NJPW run was a flop and he was eying other things.

Mike Tenay: Just announced, Brock Lesnar will face Black Reign in a Mousetrap on a Pole match! What do you mean Brock got in his car and left just now?
I am not making that match type up. It actually happened.

I don't like to slag Dixie too much, because she ultimately employed a lot of people who would have not had work otherwise, but she should not have been running the business side of TNA
Listening to 83 Weeks and My World podcasts, TNA refused to invest any significant money into the business. Like what is the point of running house shows and PPV's if you are not going to advertise them?
Like what is the point of running a business if it operates at a slight loss every year?

Because she got it in her head that she was going to become a big TV Star. It was all a vehicle to make her a star which lead to Russo, Hogan and Bischoff playing her for a sucker.

This would've been really interesting because it was before Brock rehabbed a lot of his image with his UFC run and later WWE runs. He not only pissed off a lot of fans with how he departed WWE the first time, but had the baggage of his failed NFL run and how he refused to return the physical IWGP Championship belt to New Japan after being stripped of it, taking it to Antonio Inoki's IGF promotion instead (where he lost it to Kurt Angle).

"What is Les Brockner doing in the Impact Zone?"
I reckon the conversation happened but was probably nothing too serious. As stated, Brock was kinda checked out of pro wrestling at the time.

As an on air character I didn't mind Dixie. How she ran the business behind the scenes is another story above my pay grade.
