How was Prince Adam able to keep his identity as He-Man a secret? They pretty much looked the same aside from Adam wearing a shirt. The 2000s series was a little better with He-Man looking slightly more different than Adam (I havent seen either of the Netflix shows).

They never looked He-Man in the face. Their eyes stayed on the pectorals. Dirty, dirty Eternians.

He-Man was swinging a big-assed sword and hanging dong, no one even looked at his face.

Same way Superman disguised himself as Clark Kent. He had a wimpy unassuming demeanor that made people dismiss him.

Honestly, this is just one of the reasons I love the Filmation show and how glorulsly stupid it is.

I had action figures of both them so when I played with my He-Man Toys Prince Adam would be captured and chained up in Castle Greyskull then He-Man, Ram Man, and Orko would come save him.

People are too caught up in their own lives to care about what He-Man is doing

Would you recognize a pale Hulk Hogan?

Prince Adam was hidden away like a royal mistake so not many people knew what he looked like outside of rare royal outings where they let him out of the castle.
He-man was always out and about causing trouble while picking on his ex-lover Skeletor so was better known/recognised.

I think I had every He-Man action figure except for the girl ones my dad wouldn't buy me those. I think the good one was named Tesla and the bad one Evil Lynn. He was like that with WWF action figures too I think I had every WWF LGN figure except for Miss Elizabeth I he wouldn't buy me that one. My dad was like Archie Bunker when it came to female action figures.

I have a deep memory of an old episode of He-man where he lost his sword and couldn't turn back to Adam. Then people started to wonder where Adam was.
I swear there was the following dialogue.
"Ever notice Adams never about when He-man is?" "Yeah and they both wear the same type of pants?"

Also same as Superman no one has any reason to believe that He Man has a secret identity. When He Man is not helping out the Masters he would be off living his own life, or fighting battles that dont involve them. People have to remember that just because you as a reader/viewer know things about the characters it doesnt mean that they know it as well.

I assume it's the same magic that keeps people from recognizing the Sailor Scouts in their civilian identities even though they do nothing to hide their faces.

Always rather wondered why they even bothered with the secret identity thing. Skeletor's already gunning for both of them and everyone involved, so trying to keep it a secret was something I never really quite got.

He-Man I can understand people not knowing is Adam, but how many green tigers with orange stripes, that could speak were present in 1980s Eternia?
Fairly easy to put 2 and 2 together...

Secret gets out they jump him, take the sword and throw it down a lava pit. No more He Man.

Cringer cant be the only one of his kind. He has parents, they have parents, they have family. And no one thinks its unusual that Cringer speaks so it must be a normal trait of his species. So Battle Cat is just a super powerful member of Cringers species like He Man is a super powerful Eternian. I think a bigger give away was that Adam and He Man had the same sword. T

His mom figured it out at some point and stops just short of outright saying so to him in a couple of episodes. It isn't explicitly stated, but freeing him from being a prisoner and him questioning why she didn't free a more capable fighter first, she says something evocative like, "A mother knows her own son, and what he is capable of" in a way to very heavily suggest she knew exactly who she was choosing and it wasn't just because he's her son that she freed him first.

He wasn't.
Prince Adam is called Prince Adam.
HE-MAN is called HE-MAN.
How can these two different people with two different names be the same person?
Apologise for your foolishness.
