You can tell from a lot of the responses here what the issue is: the perception of Rampage is pretty baked in at this point, because the show's been quite good over the last stretch but that's not getting people's attention, at least not live. The perception is "nothing happens on this show, it's not good, Khan's not changing things up" or whatever, but he certainly has changed a few things up of late, it just isn't enough to break through what's become the overriding view of the show for many. Not to say some of that isn't his own fault, of course, going awhile with the show featuring nothing of import will do that.
But yeah, end of the day a ton hinges on what those DVR numbers look like. Personally speaking I never really watch it live; I'm either out on a Friday night, or beat tired and ready to turn in early, so I just watch it over the weekend. Strong showings there assures WBD there's an audience there that wants to watch, weaker numbers say you've got to publicly do something to really shake the formula up, because changing certain things but keeping the overall format in place isn't cutting it.
I'm still of the mind that Rampage is in a pretty no-win time slot situation: do important stuff on it and people complain "why is this on at 10 on a Friday instead of on Dynamite?", feature midcarders and it's "why am I watching midcarders (even though I keep saying I want to see them on Dynamite)?", etc. They've done better of late having some story beats progress on Rampage, you usually get a couple very good matches in the hour, but again, you're not about to shake that perception.

There are very few Rampage episodes that are must-watch live. You throw Shibata, Ishii or anyone from Japan on, odds are I’ll go out of my way to watch. Otherwise, the most noteworthy episode of Rampage was the first Grand Slam.
This rating could be an anomaly, but it’s not great even as a standalone.

The issue is, very few big angles/moments feel like they happen on Rampage. Even the Shibata thing is more of a “hardcore wrestling fan” thing let’s be honest.
The fact that NONE of the Elite/Death Triangle best of 7 matched were booked for Rampage, not one, is very telling and not in a good way.

I definitely get this 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' thinking that in all likelihood is shared by TK. Personally, if Rampage is stuck at 10pm on a Friday, and is mostly being taped after Dynamite on a Wednesday, the approach should be simple. Just put out 3 banger matches every. single. week. A singles match, a womans match, a tag/multi-person match, 10-15 minutes each. The roster is deep enough to do this. Save the angles and promos and storyline advancements for Dynamite. Just put on awesome wrestling. Then you'll have the crowd, who's already after 3 hours of Dark/Dynamite, invested in it, and you'll get a 'word of mouth' type of 'oh you HAVE to see this match on Friday'- which, in the past, HAS caused Rampage to spike in the ratings (think of all the buzz Wheeler/Mox had earlier this year). Don't use Rampage as 'stuff we didn't have time to get to on Dynamite'. If you put on a weekly hourly show with just incredible wrestling, it will be watched- the demo and overall rating will go up and even if its not by much cause of the awful timeslot, you'll get great DVR numbers. And it'd give Rampage it's own identify of sorts- it's the WRESTLING show; Dynamite is for big matches and blow offs and angles and promos, but Rampage is just an hour of amazing WRESTLING.

I used to watch Rampage a lot early on, but now it seems unimportant so I don't bother watching anymore.

I'm hoping this stays true. I really feel like there are things happening on Rampage that people just don't care about because the cards don't look appetizing enough on paper The rosters deep enough where I think you can start having matches that will turn heads and not break a dream match bank. This would be a good place to start giving guys like Bandido and Takeshita some matches/victories as an example.

Glad to hear Tony's committed to giving us more significant cards more regularly. If interested, here's a ratings snapshot of Rampage to date. There's definitely been a drop-off.

Feels like Tony has made this promise twice before, and it really hasn't amounted to anything. And honestly, I don't know if better cards would amount to anything.
To take a parallel example: some people have said that more people would watch Dark if it were low carders having competitive matches instead of foregone conclusion jobber squashes. But like. Would they? When they put the matches up as single videos, Brian Cage existing would get more views than a competitive Top Flight/Chaos Project match. The only thing that ever popped a number on the webshows was a big name showing up, and that would only work once or twice before it returned to business as usual.

My first reaction was with the depth of the roster, why haven’t you been booking better shows for a while. And yeah as the above poster said, I feel like we heard this from him quite recently so we’ll see but I’m half expecting The Blondes vs Lethal & Jarrett or something to be announced for it on Dynamite

Honestlu the damage has been done. They should just make it a WCW Saturday night like show and have storylines with people not being used on TV. I dont see the harm in that

Wrestling is struggling right now in terms of total viewers on cable over the past week.

I think we're in the part of the year where people are doing shit at night and watching wrestling later through other means like DVR.
Wonder how Smackdown will do this week. Should be on Fox and not FS1, right?

He'll have stronger cards for like 2 weeks or so then its back to the same like it always been. He hasn't given me a reason to think otherwise. Hopefully things will change though.

Since Rampage is on later at night they should change the theme to something more adult. Rebel After Dark. *Just shows footage of Rebel dressed in her Britt Baker PJs sitting on the couch watching UnXplained with William Shatner on the History channel while she eats a bag of Bugles.
