I can't lie, I kind of hate the name Action Andretti, but that was a very, very cool moment.

This isn’t something a company should do with their top star all of the time, but the fact Jericho’s been so protected for most part in the booking is what made Andretti’s win all the more impactful. Same reason Sean Waltman was made when Razor put him over. That's exactly it. If Jericho lost in, say, January or February, it wouldn't have worked as well. Considering Jericho's 2022 where he's won more than lost, had a title run where he took on people like Ishii, Bandido, Danielson, Castle, Claudio etc, almost re-won the AEW World title in a tournament and everything else. Him losing now in this manner would not be something anyone would expect but from a story context, it makes complete sense. He got Jericho on a night where he expected a tune-up and, as Tony said rightfully, he got tuned-up.

I just realized I saw Action Andretti at a JCW show last year. I completely forgot. That makes it even better for me.

This but me seeing a mask less Flip Bros on Dynamite after seeing them compete in Ireland before lockdown. And when I mean Flip Bros, I mean Top Flight. Like, seriously, we were all helping pack the ring and chairs and wondered why the f*** those two were wearing masks.

I hope they have a plan to follow up on this with Andretti.
We shall see.

Its one of those matches that was definitely a risk, but that risk was rewarded tenfolds and it wouldnt have worked if not everyone, including the crowd and whover put the match together, hadnt done their job.
I was expecting the "SURPRISE JUDAS EFFECT DURING HOT SPOT" trope and got bamboozled

What a match, Andretti looks like a star already and this is exactly why writing off Jericho, even at this stage in his career, is an unwise move.

Shout out to Jericho, not a lot of people could have pulled off the reaction that AA got. The crowd helped a lot too, but Jericho put some of his best work out there. His latest run is nothing short of amazing.

Think my favorite part was AA either kicking out of, dodging, or reversing all of Jericho's finishers. Really felt like he had Jericho scouted well as opposed to Jericho not taking the match seriously at first. Very much Rocky vs Apollo 1.

Congratulations to him and props to Jericho, but my thought watching this wasn't there somebody you can do this with that's already somewhat know and has been in the company longer?
It just felt weird to give him that spotlight over others imo.
examples
Shawn Dean, Either Private Party members, Lee Johnson, Takeshita, AR Fox.

I really hope they have an actual plan for this, and we won't be just seeing him shipped off to Dark/Elevation within a couple of weeks and not seen on TV again for ages.

I mean that’s kind of what made it work so well though, no one knew who this dude was.

They obviously see something in AA and this puts him on the map immediately. People are already familiar with all the others and even Shawn Dean winning wouldn't have been as shocking. Ultimately, using someone that was relatively unknown worked out for the best.

It would be “this guy we know got a win and took advantage of a situation” instead of “who is this guy who beat Chris Jericho?!”

I thought something was up when a simple squash match went to commercial. I texted my friend and said “what if they do a 123 Kid tonight” not really thinking it would actually happen. Then it actually did happen and my jaw hit the floor. Tremendous.

Nobody would be chanting "Let's go jobber" at any of the guys you mentioned and that alone is precisely why

My thinking is wouldn't be better for someone ready for that spot right? alike this dude should be getting a fairly big push because if this isn't followed quickly or this guy isn't ready it seems like waste imo.
