This movie was on the Worst Of list of that year by Siskel and Ebert because they felt it wasn't as stimulating to the imagination of the viewer like Madeline was.
COUNTER: This wasn't meant for that. This was meant to be a fun thing for kids as mindless entertainment. There is literally nothing wrong with movies like that and it's really something that Roger Ebert REALLY hated this but gushed all over the two Garfield movies, which are much the same f***ing thing in that regard.

Nice Write up... however I feel I must point out that while you are correct about the Yellow Ranger, The Pink Ranger was not a man in Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger
Pink has not been a man until the most recent series Avataro Sentai Donbrothers

To get to a cinema as kids, we had to at least drive to the next city and hope they showed something good. That is why I very rarely went to cinemas. But my brother and I were huge Power Rangers fans up until the mid '90s, so naturally we had to see the movie. Our poor dad was the victim of that. He loved martial arts movies, so hopefully he got some entertainment out of teenagers in goofy costumes fighting purple Rastafari.

Yeah, I had that in 1993 with Jurassic Park (chose that over Super Mario Bros.) and in 1994 with The Lion King (two months before I moved to Virginia)
