I mean, this is the same company that were still advertising them to be at the show even though one of them were booked for Dynamite and unless TK brought back Concorde and got Tay and Sammy from Acapulco to Colorado in a split second after their advertised match took place, it wasn't going to happen. And it's not even the first time they've done this this year, never mind the company's lifetime. Also, like Cyno said, AAA belts are likely the most meaningless in all of pro wrestling. The Mega championship makes the WWE 24/7 belt look like the Triple Crown. Dax: We're proud to be AAA World Tag Team Champions. Dorian: Well somebody has to be. And we got Tag Titles?

I mean, makes sense. WWE has a good track record of working with other companies. Just as Smokey Mountain, NWA and ECW. EDIT: Or they can ask themselves, actually.

I guess we won't see Aramis, Arez and NGD showing up.

Because I saw it going around and can't find the tweet, these are the active titles in AAA going on right now. This isn't me counting the six titles that have been decommissioned in the past couple of years.

Its especially weird because AEW and ROH have a ton of belts already. There's no reason for people to need a belt from somewhere else unless they're doing an interpromotional storyline like Kenny being Impact Champion. People say this but, like, no other promotion AEW has associated with has had these problems. It’s only with AAA belts because AAA belts are forgotten so often by AAA, it’s a meme to people who cover Mexican wrestling. Like, it’s surprising they remembered that they had mixed tag belts to strip in the first place. You can tell from the responses here who pays attention to how the Mexican lucha libre promotions work and who thinks they operate like a lot of American and Japanese promotions. Also I doubt Tony Khan is telling Scott D'Amore, Gedo, and Konnan to give his wrestlers championship belts. They're doing that on their own.

If AAA is done working with AEW that's a huge loss for any prestige AAA brings, but because Kenny has wanted to bring Vikingo over for some AEW spots and any hope of that'd be dashed now unless they poach him outright.

Did Dralistico ever sign with AEW/ROH or was that a guest spot?
RUSH is also signed with both companies so any professional break could get messy with them.

Like, it’s surprising they remembered that they had mixed tag belts to strip in the first place. You can tell from the responses here who pays attention to how the Mexican lucha libre promotions work and who thinks they operate like a lot of American and Japanese promotions. Like, compare Hikaru Shida holding the Regina Di WAVE Championship to Fenix holding the Latin America title. Shida's in Japan now set to defend the title next year because Pro Wrestling WAVE and AEW have planned the schedule around when she can work both companies. Rey Fenix hasn't defended his title since June, literally in the match he won it in. It's not even like he hasn't worked in AAA, he's worked at least 2-3 shows since that time for them AND a crossover show AND been in Mexico during that time but none of them were in matches involving the belt and if they wanted him to lose it, he seems like a guy who'd probably be willing to but it just hasn't happened for some reason. And if this partnership is over or setting up to be lesser, that might be one he's stripped of too. He's not even the first person that's happened to this year, never mind in the past decade.

I appreciated that AEW actually tried to make an honest-to-goodness division out of these belts. It felt like there was a genuine effort to use them to get certain wrestlers some ring time and air time, and to build match formulas that actually used the weird intergender rules well.
But like. My appreciation went as far as "Hey, that's a worthwhile experiment," and I don't think it ever rose to the level of truly good. So I won't miss 'em.

Stop having AEW talent win titles from other promotions? That could probably prevent this kind of mess from happening in the future Personally, I think it shows unity with the other company, more so with the bigger ones. I wouldn't be surprised to see the All Atlantic belt or the Tag Titles on someone from New Japan next year

It's worth noting that AAA made the ridiculous decision to ban GCW and other companies from streaming Vikingo matches after he'd been booked and advertised (why wouldn't you want to showcase your most exciting wrestler to gain more interest?) Maybe they weren't happy with Bandido signing for aew. Basically I can see both sides being distrustful of each other.

There are statements Konnan will make that I will take with a grain of salt, this is one I will actively disbelieve unless there is another source.

What did the original Sexy Star do to get "a stink" I'm not aware. A lot of it stemmed from an incident a few years back. She took part in a four-way match at Triplemania XXV against Ayako Hamada, Lady Shani and Rosemary. During the match, it looked like Lady Shani and Sexy Star had legit issues with each other. And out of frustration, she put Rosemary (who had nothing to do with any of this) in a armbar as the finish, but then at the end reapplied it as a shoot armbar, causing Rosemary to suffer a dislocated shoulder. She then tried to cover herself by trying to claim that the whole thing was a work, despite the evidence clearly showing otherwise. A lot of major names (Cody Rhodes, Paige, Gail Kim and Road Dogg, to name a few) have stated that they never want to be associated with any company that would have her on their roster. Damn, you know you're terrible when Road Dogg is the morally superior party
