I think him finally getting over with the broke Corbin stuff and the payoff just being him winning big in Vegas and just going back to the same jerk character he's always been but with just a slightly different outfit is the perfect example of how uninspired most of his run has been. There was so many interesting character arch's they could've went with and instead they picked the laziest and most uninteresting route possible.

His best work was when he was the Lone Wolf. Wasn't a fan of the other gimmicks apart from the Bumass Baron one.

Down on his luck Corbin could have lead to a face turn if done right. Or the payoff to lucky gambler Corbin may have worked if done right

Why, in God’s name, is Corbin still cutting promos when he has a mouthpiece? JBL doesn't necessarily need to be the only person talking. They could realistically play off of each other. It seems like they don't actually have any chemistry together, though.

just have him beat the shit out of JBL and go on a promo about how money and all that doesn't matter. his moveset will allow people to cheer for him anyways... we ALL wanted to cheer for the dude when he was doing the whole down on his luck thing.
but basically have him write JBL off and I will cheer for anyone who does that lmao

Honestly, I think Corbin is going to be someone who will eventually retire and suddenly people will realise how talented he actually is.
I know he has been about as under as any talent in history at points, but he mainly just does his job and rolls with the ridiculous punches. I honestly think in a few years' time he'll be one of the sweaty lads in suits who break up fights between main eventers on a go-home show

Broke Corbin should have won the 24/7 title and needed to keep it because the hourly winnings he got as champion were the only thing keeping his family from being evicted from their home.

Then again Corbin's always seemed to be a guy that They (especially Vince) really wanted to do something with but could never really figure out what...

The Lone Wolf persona was his best, so just....go back to that. There are many ways to get there

Honestly, Corbin would probably deeply benefit from a face turn, whether it worked or not.
Just, at least a few months as a face would at least be something new from him.

Maaaaaaan, I’m a Corbin fan. I liked him at his overexposed “worst.”
This sucks. JBL sucks. It makes no sense. The pairing doesn’t work even if I liked JBL.

I wanted Broke Corbin to have a massive face turn after he kicks Romans ass.
It was perfectly set up. Corbin was broke and needed food. All they had to do was have Roman say "Yeah, I have some food.... Remember when you threw dog food all over me?"
The fans would be begging for Corbin to kick his ass after Roman starts berating him for being a bum.

Broke Ass Corbin being willing to kill people for a can of beans and wearing progressively more stained and worn clothes was a goldmine gimmick.

They could have gone so many ways with that broke gimmick, face or heel turn, better than that Hawaiian shirt stuff he had afterwards

I will die on the hill that Corbin’s best ever segment was when he was broke and he begged Kevin Owens to loan him $20 only for Ziggler and Roode to immediately mug him

For all the shit people give him, Baron Corbin is probably somebody that is both simultaneously underutilized and overexposed at the same time. In a world where Triple H takes over creative in 2016 as Corbin joins Smackdown, I think he's in the main event mix right now with multiple WWE Title reigns under his belt. Instead, he's been used as the dastardly cartoon villain for years.
I mean, the dude probably gets paid very well and seemingly knows how to manage his money, so maybe he doesn't care *that* much. But I suspect there was a WrestleMania main eventer in Baron Corbin. I think now that time has come and gone, but they have not done the guy any favors creatively.
