We always talk about good matches featuring guys who compete in the square circle full time, but what about guys we don't see between the ropes on a regular bases? Here are my picks...
Trish Stratus vs. Stephanie McMahon at No Way Out 2001: Yes, the match does feature a former Women's Champion(Stephanie) and a multi-time future one(Trish Stratus), but bare in mind, neither of them were fully trained wrestlers at this point(Stephanie never was), so of course it wasn't expected to be a technical masterpiece, but given the drama involved, it didn't need to be.
The storyline headed into the PPV started with Stephanie's father Vince demanding a divorce from Linda and then putting her in a nursing home(and being sedated), The Chairman had Trish Stratus filling in her shoes as his main squeeze.
However, according to Stephanie, there could only be one dominant female in the WWF, and she took exception to this resulting in a match between the two. Given the drama going into the match, there was alot of catfighting and hair pulling, though there was also actual wrestling into it. Another wrench thrown in there was William Regal not knowing which side to choose. He ended up performing the Regal Cutter on Trish after being slapped, and dragged Stephanie on there to get the three count for the win.
I'm sure we'll be getting plenty of McMahon matches in this thread.
Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow at Wrestlemania XI: Yes, the show was subpar at best, atrocious at worse, and it shouldn't have had those two close the show. If I was in charge, it would've been a midcard match, or even a tag match with LT coming in for a few select spots, but given it's circumstances, it was okay for what it was. Not a five star classic, but nothing near offensive.
Also, any match Bobby Heenan was in(in the WWF that is) I would consider fun just to see the hated manager get attacked in slapstick sort of ways.
Any matches you can think of that feature non-wrestlers?
