Here’s just the fellas for now:
Lead off: Bryan Danielson (2B). One of the best defenders around at his position, gets on everyone’s nerves insisting the team go vegan for catering. Still hits for a high average at .320. 2) Matt Jackson, RF. One third of an “elite” outfielder combo. 3) Kenny Omega, CF. Sort of a jack of all stats. Strong throwing arm, expected to go over 30 homers and 90+ RBI, 20 steals at least. 4) Jon Moxley (1B) Hard nosed clubhouse leader, not afraid to slide headfirst and is the first one swinging when the benches clear. Possibly 110 RBI. 5) Samoa Joe (C). Amazing pitch framer, massive home run potential around maybe 40 bombs. 6) Ricky Starks (3B). Rookie sensation, drawing in crowds with flashy glove work and clutch hitting. Could go 25 homers. 7) Jack Perry (DH, IF): A solid talent who can be plugged into multiple spots. 8) Nick Jackson (LF) Hardly the weak link, could be an easy Gold Glove lock. 9) Darby Allin (SS). Clubhouse weirdo, aside from hanging around Sting he’s mostly into skateboarding than mingling in the locker room. Projected for a .280 avg, around 30 steals minimum. Should be a deadly threat at the bottom of the order. Reserves: Penta El Zero (OF), Anthony Bowens (OF), Powerhouse Hobbes (C), Konosuke Takeshita (IF), Dax Hardwood (IF)
Rotation: 1) Adam Page (SP) Should pile up a good amount of K’s with his “buckshot” four seam. 2) MJF (SP) Courts controversy with his grease balls, throwing at batters and running away when they charge the mound and arguing with umpires. Still, he could net 15 wins with a sub 3.00 ERA, which he brags about to the press and says “I’ve got the WHIP while I pull up to the ballpark in my new whip!” 3) Orange Cassidy (SP) His “meh” attitude on the mound is deceptive as his “orange punch” breaking ball is incredibly hard for batters to deal with. 4) Malakai Black (SP) Maybe one of the most intimidating mound presences today. 5) Swerve Strickland (SP): Don’t get distracted by the off-the-field ventures he constantly talks about, that sinker of his is ridiculous. Bullpen: Eddie Kingston (RP), Sting (RP), Miro (RP), Hook (RP), Chris Jericho (CL, the crowd sings Judas as he comes out in the 8th/9th innings)

Jay Lethal gives me Ryan Raburn vibes. Only fellow Tigers fans will probably know what I mean.

Honestly, I am not into baseball at all, but this thread made me think about BASEketball. Now I legitimately want this to happen, and I think the AEW roster would have a lot of fun with it.

You've got Joe at catcher? With his knee and back issues? Man's definitely the DH/occasional 1B at this point. I'd have Hobbs as the starting catcher (which I was going to say without even seeing your bench, great minds) and FTR Bald (who uses Greg Maddux's wind-up as a tribute) as the middle of rotation guy who requires FTR Hair as his personal catcher

Shouldn't Kenny Omega be batting cleanup? He is the Cleaner after all.
Their number one rival going to be the Global Force Golden Guitars for certain.

Obviously, Tattoo Face has to be a part of this, since he is a former baseball player.

The women’s team:
Lead off: Hikaru Shida (LF) A potential batting title candidate with a potential .330+ average, double digit steals. 2) Britt Baker (3B) She credits her dental career as helping her with her wrists and supposedly that’s why her defense at the hot corner is so good. Projected .290, maybe 15 homers. Kind of a glory hound, tries to speak for the whole dugout to reporters. 3) Jamie Hayter (SS) A breakout star who is probably racking up a .500 SLG easily, and because a certain third baseman won’t shut up the fact she’s probably taking a Gold Glove herself is going unnoticed. 4) Jade Cargill (CF) One of the most picturesque home run swings (we’re thinking 45+) since Griffey or Edmonds. That and her Baseball Tonight worthy fence catches are why sponsors want her so much. 5) Serena Deeb (C) Think if you mixed peak Joe Mauer combined with Yadier Molina’s game calling and they liked yoga. A wizard with the bat and a potential on-same-team rival to Shida for that batting crown. 6) Toni Storm (RF) She got in trouble in spring training for a home plate tackle, earning the team some bad press. Still, she could send twenty bombs into the stands and she always goes 120%. 7) Athena (DH) Everyone wishes she wouldn’t take those stupid metal wings on the team bus because it knocks the drinks over. Her strong bat makes up for it, but she’s pushing things. 8) Willow Nightengale (1B) This rookie has some nice pop at the plate and an amazing throwing arm, plus an infectious personality that’s naked her a fan favorite. 9) Riho (2B) Not the strongest hitter, we’re hoping for .250, but she draws walks, plus her glove and insane speed should help cause some trouble for the other team. Reserves: Skye Blue (IF), Yuka Sakazaki (OF), The Bunny (IF), Anna Jay (OF/DH), Kiera Hogan (IF)
Rotation: 1) Nyla Rose (SP) Hard to tell what’s more devastating, her trash talk to batters, or her fireballs over the plate. 2) Saraya (SP) Since coming back from career threatening injuries she’s shown flashes of her own self, her cutter is still good and she’ll likely burn through innings forcing grounders. 3) Penelope Ford (SP) Okay, she’s promised not to get thrown out of game in the double digits this season. Let’s hope she doesn’t break nine games, that curve ball is valuable. 4) Ruby Soho (SP) She’s drawing comparisons to Al Hrabosky with her mannerisms on the mound. You can likely expect at least 12 wins and a 3.00 era with high K’s from her. 5) Kris Statlander: It’s the female Bill Lee. She should keep that WHIP under 1.25. Bullpen: Tay Melo (RP), Julia Hart (RP), Leyla Hirsch (RP), Mercedes Martinez (RP), Emi Sakura (CL, her mound entrance always cues a boom-boom-clap)
EDIT: Nah, I like Deeb at catcher and Willow at first.

Being a big baseball I'm glad this has returned. I remember you doing one of these (at least I think it was you) around 2013 and thinking it was great.
Small nitpick but I think your position choices for the women is a little off. Hayter as a SS doesn't really fit to me. Being a big power hitter she seems much more like a 3B or LF with either Britt or Shida going to SS.
Also are you doing a WWE one?

I'd also consider flipping the Young Bucks in the outfield corners; Nick's got slightly more speed, so right field might suit him better, at least in most parks.

I'd kill for a baseball crowd to chant "Cero miedo" with Penta in the batter's box
