Do have to wonder if they're going to suddenly rush another two or three matches for the card on SmackDown. They've had Elimination Chamber cards with six matches before, but I can't really see the women's match running too long past the last entrant coming in and we know Lashley / Brock isn't running long. Wouldn't be really expecting a 20 minute match out of the mixed tag either. I don't think they will tbh. Both Chambers take up at least a half hour each between the match and entrances and afters. So assume that takes us to 1 hour 10 at least. Edge match 20 minutes with entrances/etc. Remember the Edge/Beth v Miz/Maryse match went 12 mins so the segment will take a while. Thats 1 hour 30. Lashley/Brock wont go long but the entrances, the angle, and the post match brawl all have to be considered. Even so, let's just take it to 1 hour 45. Then you add in Roman Reigns entrance, the preamble to the title match, your average 20+ minute Reigns main event, the post match stuff with Sami, Kevin Owens, etc. That's taking us to around 2 1/2 hours assuming the WWE dont bugger up their time management like they always do. Given they like to keep their PPVs under 3 hours with HHH, I can't see the room for anything else.

Look no further than last month's Royal Rumble for an example of how to pad time with a main event angle. The Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns match itself ran 19 minutes and 15 seconds. But from the moment the match ended until the show went off the air, another 18 minutes and 5 seconds had come and gone. I'd expect the exact same thing Saturday night. Even if Sami vs. Roman runs about 20 to 25 minutes, which is entirely possible, the post-match angle will probably take up another 10 to 15 minutes, because it will be the final PPV (excuse me, PLE) build until WrestleMania, presumably involving The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes in some capacity. All told, with entrances, the championship match could take about an hour of on-screen time.

All I hope is that they just don't do the "Roman gets opponent in a side headlock and trash talks, dominates 90% of the match, and gets a clean win in a flat finish or Uso interference flat finish" types of Reigns PPV matches

I do not envy them having to figure out how to book this Reigns/Zayn/Rhodes thing.

Atmosphere before the main event tomorrow is going to be insane. A god tier pop for Sami and Roman going to get outright despised worse than Ciampa at that one Takeover. Still hoping for a Sami win but I'll be shocked if they actually go through with it.

I hope they give Liv a good run in the Women’s Chamber. Because their booking of her since RR has sucked frankly.

I hope they give Liv a good run in the Women’s Chamber. Because their booking of her since RR has sucked frankly. Not really? She only placed in the runner up role because Rhea was too distracted by Asuka. Otherwise she likely would have been eliminated before Asuka. And people seem to have short memory spans because I remember a lot of people being generally very unhappy with her Smackdown Women's Title run. It didn't help that she screwed up the finish at Summerslam and killed her own momentum that way. It's very clear they are trying to build up Asuka as a monster right now. And she's the only woman in the Chamber who could believably beat Bianca. Because lets be honest. Absolutely no one is going to buy Bianca losing to Liv Morgan. No one. And Asuka shouldn't be losing with this new character right now. I saw it posted on reddit, and it's a correct take. Liv has a path to Wrestlemania, likely tagging with Raquel to go after the tag titles. If Asuka loses in the Chamber, she has no path to Wrestlemania, unless they throw her into a battle royal or something. And that would be an absolutely massive disservice to Asuka. Liv's in ring ability for the most part since MITB has been wildly inconsistent. She had a decent match tonight yes, but it was against Asuka who is by far their best in ring performer for the women. And Liv's promo abilities leave a lot to be desired. She's pretty clearly going to be a gatekeeper going forward for the time being, as I wouldn't be shocked if this is Asuka's last real run at the top of the division, and she deserves one last good title run before retiring, where Liv has many years ahead of her. I also wouldn't be shocked if Liv is getting punished for her remarks in an interview about wanting to blade and use thumbtacks and stuff.

I'm pretty sure that Raquel is going to win the women's chamber.

I'm pretty sure that Raquel is going to win the women's chamber. Raquel isn't winning it. That much is certain. She isn't over in the slightest, and basically has negative levels of charisma. She's the women's version of Karrion Kross except actually worse because at least he's shown he has a bit of humor at times, where Raquel just...doesn't have anything really positive about her.

I do not envy them having to figure out how to book this Reigns/Zayn/Rhodes thing. It’s gonna be tricky, but I trust that people are invested enough they’ll follow this wherever Sami goes and won’t hijack things moving forward. I think Brooklyn is a pretty good barometer for most hostile crowds and they were into Cody.

Having her tap out twice in the span of a week going into a big match was just incredibly stupid.

It's really clear they had her tap twice to put over Asuka as this monster. Remember that WWE has been pushing for weeks that Liv loves putting herself through pain (and yes they have focused on it and even touched on it tonight as well), and thinks she can handle it. And then you have Asuka show up and cause her so much pain she quits. She's going to be an upper midcard gatekeeper until she gets more consistent in the ring and can actually cut a promo that doesn't cause audiences to turn on her.

I think Brooklyn is a pretty good barometer for most hostile crowds and they were into Cody. My issue is that we’ve spent so long internalising WWE’s booking on a deeply personal level (ie, someone losing a match is because the office hates them and the fans that support them, especially me), and I don’t think that has necessarily completely changed with the management change.

I think that the more interesting element is that Sami has been built up with a great storyline arc and has gotten over organically which has been built to a fever pitch and there's no guarantee that it will ever hit that level again just due to the longassed Bloodline angle and excellent writing, whereas Cody is definitely over and people are fine with him at the moment but is coming off of an injury and hasn't had much build other than coming back in a foregone Rumble win and then a few well received promos. I think that they painted themselves into an unnecessary corner with their booking of Cody and I don't really see an out that's going to make everyone happy. It's going to be interesting how they book all of these moving parts starting tomorrow. Like I don't think they're going to just completely turn on Cody if Roman beats Sami and leaves him laying for the neverending HEAT, but it could cool things down too. Just have to see which way the wind starts blowing in roughly 24 hours. It's an interesting dilemma for sure.

You’re arguing something that doesn’t exist I know what they’re doing. I’m saying it’s bad booking and a waste.

Here is how I rank Roman Reigns’ pay-per-view (and premium live event) championship challengers and how confident I were in them dethroning Reigns and ending his championship reign.
1. Drew McIntyre — Clash at the Castle 2022 2. Sami Zayn — Elimination Chamber 2023 3. Goldberg — Elimination Chamber 2022 4. Finn Balor — Extreme Rules 2021 5. Brock Lesnar — WrestleMania 38 6. Logan Paul — Crown Jewel 2022 7. Edge — Money in the Bank 2021 8. Daniel Bryan, Edge — WrestleMania 37 9. John Cena — SummerSlam 2021 10. Brock Lesnar — SummerSlam 2022 11. Brock Lesnar — Crown Jewel 2021 12. Cesaro — WrestleMania Backlash 2022 13. Daniel Bryan — Fastlane 2021 14. Kevin Owens — Royal Rumble 2023 15. Seth Rollins — Royal Rumble 2022 16. Kevin Owens — Royal Rumble 2021 17. Jey Uso — Hell in a Cell 2020 18. Kevin Owens —TLC 2020 19. Jey Uso — Clash of Champions 2020
