Two more wrestler deaths in Charlie Norris and Kenny Jay. Charlie was trained by Eddie Sharkey and joined WCW in 1993 for about 6 to 7 months. and Sodbuster was a long time AWA Journeyman wrestler.

I liked him in WCW. I remember he had a match with he and Shockmaster and Ice Train and I thought all of them would be big stars. I thought Charlie was a bit better and cooler than your normal flavor of the week type characters WCW was going with like from 91 to 95. I don't recall him lasting too long. He reminded me a bit of Jungle Jim Steele and by time he debuted in early 94, Charlie was gone for a bit.

I thought Kenny Jay had died before Verne, but I may have been thinking about George Gadaski. Whoever it was, they were on the AWA ring crew and would frequently request new boards, telling Verne, “These are heavy guys, there’s a lot of wear!” When this person died, Verne went to their house for the wake and noticed the barn, built of the same wood requested for the ring. Verne complained to Wally Karbo, “He ripped me off!” Wally, not understanding, replied, “No, Verne…he’s dead.”
