Cox subscribers lost their free Peacock Premium last month as well, which seems like Peacock may not be renewing these deals with the cable companies themselves.

This is a very Comcast thing to do. And if anything, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

I guess I can return the Xfinity Flex box that’s been sitting in my closet for almost two years now. The only reason I ordered one was to unlock the free version of Peacock Premium. And my primary reason for that was for WWE’s content.
I’ll miss the classic stuff and live PPVs, but I’ll live. I’m not giving Comca$t any more of my money than I absolutely have to.

I thought the premium package was for ad-free content. So I had the premium package all along? It came with the ads? I personally don't mind ads as the breaks are short enough to be tolerable, which is why I am reluctant to use apps like Tubi and Pluto TV because they have a lot of ads.
Not sure what to say about this.

Not sure what to say about this. Ad-free is called "Premium Plus" and costs $9.99/mo. The tier given for free to Comcast customers (but otherwise costs $4.99/mo.) is all Peacock content but with ads. There also use to be a $0.00 tier with limited content, but it's now only available on accounts that were made before Feb. 1, 2023.

I wonder how long it's going to be before they just abandon Peacock entirely. It's quite clear it's a dead-end of a service and that they're desperately doing everything they can to try to drum up business for it but even with them seeing a notable rise in subscribers lately the service lost nearly a billion dollars last year.

Came in to post this pretty much verbatim. Plugged in the Flex box once, said "well that's useless", and shoved it in the basement.

WWE is pretty much carrying the entire platform. Like it's the only regular enough content that people actually bother with. IIRC, the live sports events do well, too, but those only air so much. Doesn't help that their library is really small compared to other services, the UI is awful, and the original content is ...alright, but it isn't plentiful or good enough to get hyped up like the original content from other services.

Interesting, I have xfinity but pay 5 extra for Peacock premium. I’m guessing they will up those too.

I just got the notification that Peacock, and thus WWE Network, is leaving in June.
Since we've just passed the two year mark of the Network moving to Peacock and there's still substantial portions of the library missing, as well as the interface hasn't in any way become easier to navigate, I can't figure out why *now* is the point that Peacock's like "let's see who we can retain, who just can't get enough of the Cock!"

Honestly both cutting off the free members and getting rid of the free tier probably come from a place of hoping people do drop it just to reduce server costs. Peacock is costing them an assload of money to run.

Peacock is costing them an assload of money to run. Server costs are pretty reasonable. It's producing and licensing content that is driving up expenses. WWE Network just has staff and server expenses since no residuals are being paid to anyone and there's no licensed footage on it besides the indy promotion WXW. Due to that, WWE Network just has more and more content added to it and rarely loses any while the average streaming service removes content on a regular basis.
