I remember being excited for their Mania match and then falling asleep during it.
They ran Styles vs Nakamura for like 3 months and couldn't even give Nak a temporary run with the belt lmao

Wasn't watching at the time but I did go back and watch all of their matches. I really liked the Last Man Standing they had at MITB but, yeah, the other matches were disappointing.

Their feud really was disappointing. Nakamura should have at least had a short reign right after the heel turn for the rematch, then Styles regains the title, and that's the end of the rivalry. Then Samoa Joe takes the belt from Styles later, and Styles moves out of the world title picture for a while. I had friends that don't watch wrestling over to watch WM 34. I talked this match up so much. Sigh. I've seen that happen with other posters online across different wrestling forums over the years too many times to count. What an embarrassing feeling that has to be. "Hey, you guys got to check LAX out in TNA this week, they're the shit!" *American flag-burning episode happens* "Uhhhhh...." |

I was there live for it and it was a big pile of meh.
If the heel turn ended with Nakamura getting the WWE title eventually, I would have been okay with it.
