New Jersey benefits a lot by being sandwiched between New York and Philly along with its own strong indie scene. It's like 2 hour drive between the cities (without traffic mind you) and plenty of opportunities in between.
We've also produced a lot of wrestlers lately, too. Liv Morgan, Anthony Bowens, Sonya Deville, Orange Cassidy, and QT Marshall, among others, call the state home.

I still feel like it might be Chicago. Feels like anytime someone wants a red-hot crowd, Chicago's the place to promote. I'd say that might stop if Punk is gone for good, but since Tony Khan's from Chicagoland, he'll keep it alive. As far as Orlando, I don't think it qualifies by itself, but if you include Tampa 75 minutes down the road... I get that impression that's a pretty convenient place for wrestlers to live as far as making travel arrangements? The lack of individual income tax is huge too...

WCW held shows and tapings there in the 90s for years.

Nah, the capitol is the Knights of Columbus in Ridgefield Park, NJ. You may think I'm joking, but there are usually 3-4 wrestling events per month there and there are typically pretty big indie names on the shows.
...ok, I actually am joking, but I still think the Northeast is probably the most genuinely active hotbed for wrestling in the country. I don't think there really can be a "capitol" anymore just because of how many promotions are running all over the place.

In 2023 I would say absolutely and it's not even really close.
Orlando has the WWE Performance Center, NXT/AEW/ROH all taping regularly, a whole lot of wrestlers live in the area, they get Raw/Smackdown/Dynamite episodes usually multiple times a year and it's hosted Wrestlemania twice in the past 15 years.
