Why did they never thought about doing a Tag Team Match involving Bret/Vince at WM 26? Like Bret & Hart Dynasty vs Vince/Miz&Show or something like that.

That would have been a lot better.
I also always thought Batista/Vince vs Cena/Bret in a tag match would have been cool too.

Vince had his promoter’s hat on, match quality be damned. He knew Vince/Bret could draw in some casual interest better than a tag or six man tag.
A six man could have been good to great though. In any case it would be talked about positively when discussing WM 26, which Vince/Bret never is. I like the idea of Bret/Hart Dynasty vs. Vince/Two Other Guys.
Unfortunately ShowMiz is really the only team you can slot in there. Vince and Show would be good for quick tag ins where they could do some stuff and then tag out so the match quality stays up. However, that leaves Miz to carry the bulk of the match, which I’m not too keen on.
That really is the most viable option though. Heel tag teams were nearly non-existent in WWE at the time with Nexus not even debuting until months later. So outside of ShowMiz the only other options would be putting together two other singles stars or GASP elevating the Colons (which I’d enjoy but am probably in the minority).

I know that he wanted to be done at this point, but Shawn Michaels vs. Bret would have been at least a decently good match. If the stars aligned a little sooner I suppose.

I'm going to say no as Vince vs Bret should have never been a *match* match in any capacity. Nobody wanted to see a *match*. They wanted Bret to just absolutely squash Vince and make him tap to the sharpshooter. That's what the build called for.

Bret Hart due to his 2002 stroke and his concussions that he suffered in 1999 & 2000 were so severe, he couldn’t take ANY bumps no matter what. That’s why he was always on offense in his matches and also why he vacated the US belt after winning it (now of course, him vacating it made him look like a wimp in front of casual fans who didn’t know any better, but that’s WWE for you in 2010. Also, Bret never said he was retired during that time.)

Replace Bret with Bruce Hart, and that's the match everyone wants to see.

Should have went with Team Bret Vs Team Vince with the stipulations being if Bret's team won Bret got 5 minuets alone with Vince and if Team Vince won Bret would have been forced to join the Kiss My Ass club or something like that.

From a booking/promoting standpoint Vince vs Bret was the match to go with. Where they went wrong was in having it go longer than 3 minutes.

Vince had his promoter’s hat on, match quality be damned. He knew Vince/Bret could draw in some casual interest better than a tag or six man tag. Yeah, having Bret and the Hart Dynasty vs. Vince and a mid-card tag team completely dilutes the appeal of Bret vs. Vince and misses the point even moreso than the match we got did. It should have just been Bret firing off a dozen chair shots and putting Vince in the Sharpshooter (and Bruce Hart as ref could pretend to not see Vince tap for a bit for extra karmic justice), with a bell-to-bell time of three minutes or less. Instead, they dragged it on waaaayyy too long for reasons I can't understand.

It didn’t because sure enough before they could even touch Kane ran in to beat up Taker. The nerve of WWE to advertise that match.
