I feel the need to remind you all that every bad boy, in fact, has a soft side: I own a copy of this album. It is a regular addition to the CD rotation in my car. But do you have the other albums in the "monster" series?

This thread is the perfect antidote for nostalgia.

In other news, they're now on "Now That's What I Call Music" #85 in North America since the series launched here in 1998!! That was a big disconnect between me and a lot of my peer group, "Do you have Big Shiny Tunes #3?" "No, do you have Best of 1978?"

Outside of Nelson and Bad English, I'm pretty sure I've heard all those songs on the classic rock station here in the last couple of months. So not a bad selection of songs at all.

If you guys need me I'll be over here listening to my new Punk compilation with such noted Punk bands as Crowded House and The Thompson Twins...

The perfect compilation for the end of a long day: And oh by the way … I still put it into the CD player now and then. I popped when I heard Oxygene Part IV in GTA IV. I'll always have a soft spot for that Sail Away song.

I feel the need to remind you all that every bad boy, in fact, has a soft side: I have very distinct memories of waiting in line at 2am for King of the Ring 2000 tickets to go on sale and someone having a boom box blaring this CD all morning.

Still more punk than that other compilation. I vaguely remember someone posting that video. Wasn’t it just a bunch of pop song? it was mostly New Wave songs, which is technically punk-adjacent but yeah basically.

The 5th song is the X-Files theme? A dance mix, too! Once I saw the movie, I had to smile at the inclusion of Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. Because when I think “relaxing music,” I think of the theme from The Exorcist.

I vaguely remember someone posting that video. Wasn’t it just a bunch of pop song? Yes. Pretty much a bunch of random 80s songs slapped onto 2 cds or cassettes: I had completely forgotten about that nonsense. I love all of the songs, but only a couple could get confused with punk if you squinted really hard.
