The Benoit tragedy was all over Sky Sports News throughout the whole day. I was very lasped at that point so found the whole thing completely f***ing surreal seeing fake 'rasslin on my usual sporting news.
Owen dying was when I was on the school bus which had BBC Radio One playing and I just caught the tale end of the report, and had to wait the end of school to find out what had actually happened.

In German language class at school when someone told me Yokozuna was dead.
Final year of University when Eddie passed, right here on the forum which I'd only joined a week before when it was the Wrestlecrap forum.

Yoko’s one was pretty surreal as well as probably a week or two earlier I’d seen him wrestle live in my hometown of Liverpool (he was staying in a local hotel for convenience) on one of those touring shows that featured a mix of little known UK talent and ex WWE guys (and selling knock off merch with current names) and couldn’t get over how much more huge he’d gotten since his last WWE match

Owen Hart was on the front of my local newspaper. I had been in and out of wrestling at that point. Was absolutely floored. Watched Raw is Owen that monday. I found out about Owen’s death on the 10 o’clock news the night it happened. Raw Is Owen was the first wrestling show I watched since early 1996 (first WWF show since late 1995) when I originally stopped watching wrestling. Another wrestler death I vividly remember is the death of Andre The Giant. I found out from my dad, who saw about it in the local newspaper.

The Von Erich deaths were all front page news here in Dallas so that is how I'd learn about Kerry and later Fritz.
Eddy was though the news as well.
Benoit, I was on here. I still remember that night and talking with different people how how something was off about things before the news came out.
Owen, we were living with my Memaw at the time waiting on our house to be built and she didn't have a cable box but we could listen to shows. I came in from doing laundry and my mom told me what she'd heard.
Warrior was from Triple H on Twitter and I was confused as hell.

Owen - I was watching Over the Edge
Chris Benoit - I tuned into RAW expecting to watch into a normal RAW instead of.... what in retrospect was one of the worst things the company ever did
Eddie Guerrero, Brodie Lee, The Ultimte Warrior, Jay Briscoe - all I learned about from reading this forum

I learned about Dino Bravo in one of the trashier wrestling mags that had a story about it and his cigarette smuggling.
As for Benoit, I was here like everyone else. I firmly believe that the WWE had it all but confirmed that he was the killer before that tribute show even started and they went ahead with it anyways.

I wasn't watching WWE consistently at the time, but did they make it through the whole Benoit tribute episode or did the facts come in during the show?

It has been stated that facts were coming in the during the show. If you watch William Regal’s interview, something will seem off. He lived in the same town with as Benoit and knew how troubling his marriage was. JBL even asked him before he went on “you don’t think Chris killed that little boy do you”

Owen- Was a youngster at the time & was watching Over The Edge with my dad & grandfather. At my young age then i thought it was a storyline until Jim Ross clarified it was not an angle, I then knew something was wrong. Eddie- Saw it on a Wrestling-Related Site (NoDQ.Com i think) I remember being sad/speechless & in complete disbelief at how sudden his death was. Horrible day Chris- Was gearing up for a bowling tournament & right before i headed out i flicked on RAW, Did not have internet at the time so first thing i saw was the "In Memory of Benoit" graphic & I was horrified. I walked out to the car ashen-faced & was basicially shellshocked the entire night. Wasn't until i got home i learned the full truth.

Andre the Giant - my dad told me when he picked me up from baseball camp.
Owen - I heard bits and pieces about tragedy at a wrestling show, but it was a couple of days before I found out who or what happened (I was out of wrestling fandom at the time).
Eddie - woke up and logged onto a GTA message board, people in the off-topic were posting it in the wrestling thread.
Benoit - I come home from work, log onto Rajah, and see tributes and news snippets. Nobody had details yet so I assumed it was something like carbon monoxide poisoning.

The Benoit one was odd with me. Back then most summers my oldest son would come stay with me. We went to the Beaumont House show Benoit no showed. Went to the PPV in Houston that Sunday. That monday instead of watching Raw he wanted to watch my Benoit dvd,we still had no clue Benoit was dead.
It was Tuesday morning I had just cooked us breakfast and was reading RSPW and saw the news.
He hasn't been to a show since then and stopped watching. I gave up for close to 2 years. Haven't been to a WWE event since then.
