I hope Wardlow doesnt get another shot at the belt. Yeah this dude needs to go heel again. He's not the 2005 Batista that everyone thought he was. I get what you're saying, but after Batista finished his feud with HHH he did substantial things Wardlow had his momentum cut off by creative after finally beating MJF --- and proceeded to do nothing important for a while afterwards for a bit

Honestly it's kind of dubious having Luchasaurus winning a title when he's never beaten anyone of consequence and has no heat of his own (turning him heel remains a spectacularly shortsighted booking decision) but I'll take damn near anything over more Wardlow.
Luchasaurus winning the title is at least foreshadowing a probable JB heel turn.

MJF did Wardlow dirty. Like that whole thing got cut from underneath him when that was supposed to be his biggest moment they been building up to. Then AEW in general f***s it up by giving him nothing to do
Get him away from the TNT title. He needs a proper feud

Just put the title back on Miro and let him hold it for ages, the last time this title had any value was when he was champion.

He stil had enough goodwill for a decent run but instead of defending it regularly he started teaming with Samoa Joe instead. Very weird. Comparing it to Orange Cassidy's international title reign says it all.

They've now tried to recreate a hot title-winning moment twice, and if they try that again, then it just means the TNT title is the Wardlow title, which is terrible for both. Wardlow is, in fact, a pretty good wrestler who's had some really good matches. It feels like just letting him do that, even if it doesn't set the world on fire, would be better than having him lose the title to three different big dudes and then win it back twice (God forbid we get a threepeat of it). Guy could have been defending that belt against a dozen or so perfectly good opponents instead of these meh angles.

I think Wardlow has had a decent rehab in recent months but they clearly need to get him away from the TNT title for a bit

I'm kind of legitimately getting the impression they're specifically trying to rush Wardlow to having more TNT title reigns than Cody.

Wardlow wasn't really ever over. The story of him turning on MJF was over. AEW didn't help themselves with how they booked him though for sure but also I'm not sure he's actually that good. He certainly has progressed over last year (compare now to his Cody match) but he's still in ring wise a level below most of his peers. And his promos are pretty awful. He's a body guy in a workrate comoany/era
No matter what JR says when commentating on his matches, this is 2023 and fans expect more to your game. This isn't the 80s anymore. You can't just be a body guy with a few nice looking power moves and get by with better ring technicians carrying you. He's gotta compete with Omega, Danielson, MJF, Claudio, Hangman etc if he wants to reach the main event. He's never gonna reach that level. And he's not even the best mid card powerhouse. Miro, Joe, Takeshita, Hobbs are all level above. Heck could even argue Big Bill

The title switches hands more times than Paul Wight has turned face or heel.

I’m telling you Wardlow’s appeal was in his hair. Once they cut it off he backs a vanilla not so midget.

Looking at wikipedia and says that Wardlow had the title for 59 days yet it feels like he barely did anything with the title outside of the ladder match vs Christian

Christian celebrating like he won the belt was great
Actually giving Luchasauraus the belt? The dude has so little heat right now. I know Wardlow has no oomph either but this doesn’t change anything
They need to tell a story with the belt and give it to someone popular. Look at OC, I’m invested whenever he has a match. Is this going to be where it gets too much? Is he going to get too desperate? How’s it going to end

I'm pretty much of the opinion the only reason they gave Luchasaurus the belt is to add further pressure to Jungle Boy to turn heel and he'll probably drop the belt virtually immediately since the dude has like nothing going for him outside of that connection.

OC had a rocky start when the IC was the AA title, it took months for his reign to become a good one and the title being prestigious.
Hope they let Christian tell the story and not just kill time for Wardlow to return and regain the title for the 214923402time.

There aren't many people in the history of AEW that have won two different belts. Luchasaurus is now one of them.
(I think it's just Kenny, the Bucks, Hangman, Pac, the Lucha Bros, and Scorpio Sky, right?)
