By the 2000’s the days of fast food promotional tie ins where already past; happy meals ceased being the center of McDonald’s marketing, so the giveaways were no longer a key selling point.

I remember Burger King selling TMNT videos. I think I had all of them except for Sky Turtles.

The VHS tapes McDonald's sold were recorded at crappy Extended Play speed on cheap cassette tapes, but.. still $5.99 for a movie with your dinner is still a pretty great deal.

Got Waynes World and Adams Family VHS that are from there.
Back when this promotion was going on I grabbed Waynes World. Lost that copy. But these were fairly easy to find at thrifts in the last 20 years.

Yes, that's how we got Back to the Future, Ghost, Land Before Time and American Tail:Fieval Goes West. I remember they had a Field of Dreams promotional poster hanging on the wall. I had Back to the Future and Field of Dreams. I think a reason they didn't do them with DVDs is that DVDs were always pretty cheap, so a promotion wouldn't do much. Outside of a few movies (Disney, and huge movies like Star Wars and Jurassic Park), VHS was f***ing expensive, so the only way most could buy them was used from rental places or during promotions.

I got Ghost and Addams Family from this. There were other movies sold as well. I'm 100% sure I got Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from McDonalds, and 80% sure I got the Indiana Jones trilogy there too.

There also werent as many places to buy tapes when the fast food places started selling them.
By the time DVDs became popular you could buy them basically every where else.

I had Addams Family, Fievel, Field of Dreams and maybe one other. I got Weekend at Bernie's I think II either in a cereal box or two send away for it. I think it simply came in a clear plastic seal. There was also a Keanue Reeves movie being offered too. Not sure how I got the first Weekend at Bernie's but feel like that was a cereal box offer later on.
