so thats how vince will finally lose control of the company. he'll put all his money on results from a single ppv the week before the show, then forget and change all the results on the day of the ppv. “I THOUGHT AKIRA TOZAWA WAS DUE!” HHH: "YOU DIDNT EVEN BOOK HIM FOR THE SHOW, POPS!" Vince: "WHO LET YOU BACK INTO THE BUILDING? SECURITY, GET THIS MAN OUT OF MY BUILDING"

Betting on a work... Look, I get that as someone who doesn't know the result first hand that when I guess on it that I'm never 100% right, but still, unless bets are really limited in value this seems stupid.

WWE is gonna make so much money off the Rumble matches alone. There are so many different probabilities which will have a lot off different gambling lines.

You are really dumb if you bet on wrestling. This really shouldn't be allowed.

Man could you imagine if this existed already and someone just bet on Roman for two years? They'd live in a mansion in space lmfao Not really? I mean maybe for matches where the outcome was actually in doubt (McIntyre at Clash At The Castle), but you’d barely be making anything worthwhile on most of them unless you were already loaded and betting large (betting $1 million at $1.01 odds only gets you another $10,000). (By the way, been entirely legal in Australia for years) Yeah, the bookmakers would have made sure that Roman winning would have had the lowest payout... like real million to one odds.... to the point that no gamblers would likely have touched it cause you can't make any money off that.

When you com hom and have to explain that you wiped out the kie's college fund, betting on a dude named Dolphin Ziggler, in something called the Miracle on 34th Street Fight.

Absolutely loathe the sports betting boom and the inescapability of it f***ing everywhere because the paltry efforts to pretend they care about gambling addiction are undercut by turning the shows themselves into ads for sports betting. It's the worst.

I mean, WWE’s been known to change plans when publications a tiny percentage of their readers pay attention to leak something out.
So if the odds are on something and people bet on those odds? Like…without great oversight, how can that got anything but terribly wrong?

It's been a thing in the UK for years. Usually limited to small stakes as a novelty bet.
There was some fun to it with the more random things you could bet on - I remember winning on who would hit their finisher first in the Brock-Drew match at WM. But mostly the favourites are 1/1000 and there's no point.

It's been a thing in the UK for years, although you can totally tell the leaks are real, as prices crash in close to showtime.

It's been a thing in the UK for years, although you can totally tell the leaks are real, as prices crash in close to showtime. It started with soaps because I remember the bookies really getting the odds on the Who Shot Phil Mitchell storyline in EastEnders and even as a young kid, I couldn’t help but realize how insanely weird it was because that thing was filmed months in advance, never mind written.

There's no way this works out and doesn't end in f***ing disaster. The odds are going to tip off all the winners once people figure out what's going on, WWE will never stick to the booking plans they tell the odds makers and someone in WWE is gonna wind up in the desert with Joe Pesci and a vice.

There is no way at all this doesn't end with one or more of those states investigating members of WWE management after friends and relatives of theirs win big multiple times, spread across numerous bookmakers in an attempt to cover their tracks.
I wouldn't trust professionally run companies not to leak to benefit gamblers. I certainly don't trust this carny poopshow.

I made a bit of money a few years back betting on WWE. Iirc I used a free bet on Kane beating Orton at wm at good odds.
They are capped novelty bets though so you can't bet huge sums on those markets. The bookies also got wiser and the good odds dried up.
I don't get why WWE would push for it in this way though, there's no way they can fix results so far ahead and not have it bite them. Imagine wm30 if they were forced to stick with Orton Vs Batista as the main event.
