Oh holy shit I didn't realize that Brie Larson obsessed-weirdo was blaming Zack Snyder for his daughter's suicide. Holy shit that's messed up.

In fairness RE: James Rolfe, his controversy mostly had to do with the Screen Wave guys latching onto him. James himself is still going strong to the point that people that do try to get angry at him can't find any dirt on him besides the fact that he's...balding? Lady Emily did a GREAT video about the backlash to AVGN. James himself seems to be a pretty cool, well adjusted dude. There's just something... Off about the screensaver people. Especially that Justin Silverman guy (who also once invited f***ing Chris Chan to a convention fully intending for Chris to humiliate herself, which she did). Justin looks like a guy I used to be friends with when I was 8-10 years old who I later found out was a sex offender.

A recent takedown of Mr H Reviews by Doctor Who fan MrTARDIS, if you scroll the comments, you'll find a number of former Mr H fans who used to sub to his patreon and enjoyed his analysis of Alien and Predator movies...until he began to focus too much on the court battles with Amber and Johnny and from there snowballing into full anti-woke campaigning, which turned them off of his brand. I used to really like his Hellraiser videos (which is how I found his channel). But then one day I saw him defending the comparison of Alita to Captain Marvel, and I tuned out.

He hasnt really been "disgraced", but I definitely regret being a Razorfist fan for a time. To be fair, I only was a fan due to Metal Mythos (didnt care for his video game rants), but when he went full political I had to walk away. Thank goodness for Metal School (same deep dive format as Metal Mythos, but less abrasive and updats much more frequently).

I kind of like his occasional comic book rants (despite them also being political), but that's only because I have a problem with the 'big two', whilst other comics based channels like Thinking Critical I can't stand.

Oh god that guy, only seen him once when a history channel I follow did a reaction to his video on Abe Lincoln as a dictator. Just the most difficult thing I've ever sat through. The reactor was just ripping everything to shreds, his argument, his evidence, his ability to stay on topic but just listening to the guy was torture.

I was really into ArchWarhammer's 40k lore videos, then I found out a bit more about him. Needless to say it's Majorkill, Luetin09 and Adeptus Ridiculous for that now.

Speaking of AVGN, anyone been following the drama between Pat the NES Punk and the pro amico crowd/guru larry/reviewtechusa/etc or the drama in the British retro video game circle aka top hat gaming/lady decade.

There's drama beyond what, well, every female youtuber, especially gaming, especially someone non white has to put up with? Edit: Ahhh the photo stuff, yeah that is... not good.

Especially that Justin Silverman guy (who also once invited f***ing Chris Chan to a convention fully intending for Chris to humiliate herself, which she did). I used to like Justin but that was a long time ago when he was apart of Underbelly. Then I saw some of his solo stuff and yeah, he quickly fell off my radar He hasnt really been "disgraced", but I definitely regret being a Razorfist fan for a time. Thank goodness for Metal School (same deep dive format as Metal Mythos, but less abrasive and updats much more frequently). I found Razorfist like a year or two ago when I was looking up pulp heroes. I was enjoying his views on them up until he started making weird claims like these are real men unlike all modern superheroes and shoved the political stuff into it. Speaking of AVGN, anyone been following the drama between Pat the NES Punk and the pro amico crowd/guru larry/reviewtechusa/etc or the drama in the British retro video game circle aka top hat gaming/lady decade. Wait what? I feel like I've missed a lot of drama.

On the Channel Awesome stuff it feels like the real unsung person who paid for that whole thing is Brad Jones. His videos usually barely get any views at all these days, with a very clear pattern since it happened of him just desperately trying new formats to try to find a new audience and none of it working, and he makes a fraction of the money people like Phelous and Todd do on Patreon. Just feels like he completely fell off from really being on anyone's radar in any meaningful capacity. And it sucks since I used to watch his stuff pretty religiously and he was often a go-to for when I needed something for noise but he kind of just showed his ass so thoroughly during that whole thing that I haven't watched him in years and have no real desire to ever again. Though he also scammed me once on a Kickstarter so that's fun. Another thing that hurt Brad is the fact that so many prominent reviewers on youtuber have risen up and done a better job at what he was doing. Channel awesome talent had the luck of being among the first online reviewers in video format, and had to amp up their game when competition became much more abundant. Brad absolutely was not capable of that. I find it funny that Brandon Tenold does a better of reviewing the same films as Brad did, even though he started as a new guy at channel awesome that was under the wing of the already established reviewers. He basically leaped frogged over them.

Seemed most people were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt through the whole "Change the Channel" stuff, but after the swatting accusations happened I think most people just decided they were done with the guy. I know I personally ended my Patreon support for him (it was only $2, but whatever), unsubscribed to his YouTube channel and just stopped watching any of his videos.

It doesn't help that he also started reviewing a lot of Christian Fundy films where the content was often far too hateful for any joy to be derived out of mocking them.

The THGM/Lady Decade situation was a baffling choice, like, it's £500 the owner of the photo was asking for and they're in a house with incredibly rare and expensive videogames and consoles, their entire livelihood is built on 'Look at these expensive consoles and games we have access to and look at how we're travelling around the world with out expensive toys!' They could have eBayed a few pieces and not noticed their loss, or skipped out on a future purchase, but instead they went to youtube pleading poverty and trying to sic their fans on a fellow content creator and ruin their life for a couple of hundred pounds they could easily have afforded, given they have two near identical monetised channels putting out masses of content.
I understand if a lot of their online personas are faked and all, and they don't own all the consoles they've reviewed and pose with, but they could easily have paid or just taken down the video and had no impact on their lives whatsoever. They made all their friends and fans look like fools for supporting them and seem to have gotten themselves cut out of the cross promotion loop of the retro youtuber circuit, something even the 8-bit guy hasn't managed to do.

Based on the combined average views on their channels their ad revenue earnings alone should have covered the cost in under a week. They both have Patreons, and LD's even displays her monthly revenue (presently £544.45 per month), so as much as it sucks to have an unforeseen expense I have a very hard time believing it was beyond their means to comfortably afford. Accepting a handout from TheQuartering was just the icing on the cake, because nothing good ever comes from that loser getting involved.

The Quartering bailing them out kinda made me go 'Oh god, they're chuds too, aren't they?' At this point, i wouldn't be shocked. There's little doubt they had the means to pay it, they just thought they could get either their fans to foot the bill or bully the guy into backing down.
