According to Impact social media he has a tricep tear that needs surgery. A new Impact Champion will be crowned in a match between Steve Maclin and Kushida at Rebellion on April 16.

mentioned it in the Impact thread. I think Maclin was winning the belt based on the build, but sucks for Josh. He IMO has been the best world champ in Impact/TNA history and he deserved this reign to end on a high note.
Heal up and get ready for the big Maclin/Alexander match down the road

Both Mickie and Josh injured and possibly in Mickies case having to give up their titles.
Did impact break a mirror and this is 7yrs back luck kicking in because that is insane to have that happen at the sametime.

Damn, the match and build between Maclin and Alexander has been great, hopefully they have a proper match when he recovers. Maclin has been a surprise great pick on impact putting in good work.

It’s a terrible way for his great run to end. Especially because I’m almost certain Maclin was winning the belt next month. But…the good news is that wrestling lets you tell those comeback stories. Maclin can win the title and be established as champion…and Alexander can get the shot when he returns and the match will have even more behind it. Sucks because I was really enjoying the Maclin storyline and he was so close to the payoff. But it shouldn’t be too hard to adjust it to Maclin the champion who didn’t beat the actual champion who held it for the longest in history…and they both want to prove they’re the top guy when Alexander returns.
Crazy that Impact lost their Mens and Womens champions to injury in like…a 12 hour span
With the knockouts they have plenty of people who can step in. With the men it’s been all about Maclin’s rise. Alexander cleaned out most of the division obviously holding it as long as he has

That’s awful. Dude was on the absolute run of his life and it ends like this.

It really just goes to show how easily the best laid plans can get blown up at any moment. Impact committed to creating the strongest booked champion they could…and building up the strongest challenger they could. Both running through competition on a collision course. Maclin feeling like he’s getting screwed out of his shot for months as he’s passed over by guys he’s beaten. And finally he earns his shot…and boom. Just like that. The catch-22 of long term stories. Sometimes the time doesn’t come.
But, again, just pivot it and make part of Maclin’s story that he or people around him know he might be champion but he didn’t beat the man. So when the man comes back around…you’ve got the thing you built right back with added emotion

That sucks, Josh has been on a roll since getting the title.
Wish him a speedy recovery and he can always jump back in the title picture when he returns.

It will hurt Maclins run initially, but when Josh comes back the feud will be... amazing!

Both Alexander & Mickie decided they didn’t want to job and put their health at risk. Maybe going home to watch Rocky movies.

It sucks. I think he's still probably the best champ they've ever had, even with this ending.
If Maclin wins, I do hope this won't make him something of a paper champion.
