Gorilla doing commentary during a Gangrel match while talking about Austin and Mr. McMahon is so strange.

It's..just, so weird. I almost want it to be fake. But why was he doing some syndicate shows? Cause he wanted to I guess? I would assume by this point he would have a comfy office job. Then again they were probably recording his comments at HQ anyway

Gorilla seemed like he was 100 in the 80s when he was only around 50. Hearing him in the Attitude era is just wrong. lol

McMahon, with Monsoon being someone who had some amount of ownership I guess. Either that, or maybe the WWF was short-handed on commentators.

yes it's weird, but he sounds good for a guy who had to have been somewhat ill. He looked very frail at mania XV and passed away later that year.

Very strange any time that I se a clip with Gorilla commentating in the Attitude Era.
I’m not sure when his last on screen appearance was prior to Wrestlemania XV, but I always kind of put an end point to Gorilla’s tenure sometime in 1997, after he had a backstage argument with Stone Cold.

Always wondered what Gorilla would've been like during this era, but it also seemed that, very understandably, he was never really the same after his son died.

Him still being the baby face announcer may have been strange Him still doing the squeaky clean baby face commentary looked like a product of a bygone era. I don’t think it was a bad idea though.
Him being on commentary also made these versions of the syndicated shows looked like they were geared towards the old school fans who watched when they were kids.

These shows with Monsoon on commentary were from the Canadian versions of Shotgun (titled Superstars over there IIRC).

These shows with Monsoon on commentary were from the Canadian versions of Shotgun (titled Superstars over there IIRC). Yes, Superstars in Canada and the UK at this point had Shotgun matches with alternate commentary while U.S. Superstars was just footage from Raw mixed with video features on the wrestlers. The U.S. also had two different versions of Shotgun, one for afternoon markets and one for late night markets. They each had separate commentary teams. I think the afternoon version was shown in Canada and the UK while the late night version was exclusive to the U.S.
