Seriously, their reign was awesome and had so much left in the tank.
The belts felt important and were showcased every week.
They were putting on great matches and little mini feuds. The crowds were always invested in their matches and promos.
They still remain one of the most over acts in the entire company.
The Gunns/FTR blowoff didn't need the belts. FTR could've put up their careers for another shot at the Gunns if they wanted and that would've worked.
I know the plan may be to do Acclaimed/FTR for the belts but Acclaimed should still be champs in my opinion, they cut the legs off them for no real reason.

I do feel like FTR risking their careers only really would have made sense for the titles, since it's otherwise such a "what is in it for them?" scenario to risk that much, but I will say that I'd have liked to see the Acclaimed have the belts just a little bit longer, sure. I don't think Gunn Club needed the belts quite as long as they had them.

Well not for them f***ing Gunns anyway. And having the Acclaimed still as the champs in the feud with the 2.0 would've been some good shit.

I agree and the FTR story didn't need it at all. Rather than for the titles, the match could have been Career/title shot, then segue to Acclaimed v FTR.

I enjoyed the Gunns title reign and it helped estabilish then.
But also I wouldnt mind more acclaimed.

I think where they are in their careers makes it easier to deal with: odds are good that before all’s said and done The Acclaimed will have multiple runs at the top.

As with the majority of babyface reigns in wrestling history and especially in AEW, once they won the belts, the downturn immediately began

I think leaving people wanting more is smart as they're likely to win them again. I think it was more badly timed than anything else. The whole thing should have took place between ppvs.
If they had one more big ppv title defence and in an exhausted state dropped the belts the dynamite after and everything else was basically the same but on a shorter timeline it would have been much better received.

I really feel bad for the Acclaimed. First they get to have a feud with the dull-as-dishwater Gunns, who seem like they're playing wrestlers, and now they get saddled with the crack-addled Muppet brigade. I liked those guys when they were in NXT and the first few weeks in AEW, but 2.0 have become instant eye rollers for me. They should be the guys who talk tough (and less) but get stuffed in a locker afterward.

I enjoyed the Gunns title reign and it helped estabilish then. But also I wouldnt mind more acclaimed. It also is just like... I know multiple people have said the feud didn't need the belt, but... unless it was with the ROH belts or something, which would require Tony to have been a psychic to know how that'd play out, it did have to be for the titles, since the Gunn Club screwed over FTR to mess with them. The feud was about tag title belts to begin with, so that's where it invariably had to go, especially with the risk FTR had to accept in order to even get the match. If it wasn't for the title belts, we'd have a 10+ page thread about how Dax and Cash were the dumbest characters in the company to possibly nuke their careers for an exhibition match with no stakes.

Acclaimed vs FTR is literally a top PPV match because of the road they've taken
Acclaimed will take care of JAS and maybe FTR gets a defense or two in, this could be the tag title match for DON or All In.

I think if it was to anyone other than the Gunns in a horrible feud over "My father didn't love me" it could have worked.

I get that you can do face/face matches every so often but I'm fine with a heel team as a transition here because you at least get to give someone new a shot. And I think the feeling is the Acclaimed can be important and over without a title program and I don't disagree with that.

100% agreed. The Acclaimed were very hot and just lost the titles to The Gunns to get them on FTR. I love FTR but sorry they needed to wait longer, The Acclaimed were hot you run with that.

One of the first things I thought when FTR won them.

I think I could forgive it more if it weren't the Gunns. The Acclaimed helped carry the show in their program with Swerve In Our Glory and beyond during the rough post-All Out patch where their stories remained untouched and were able to flow because of it, and they hadn't really cooled down at all in the time since. Bogging down the end of their run in that program with dudes they already threw in a dumpster with shit centered around who their dad was that only kidn of highlighted the whole nepo baby thing really didn't do any foavours to it. I hope they get another chance and I hope it counts for more because that whole era of Gunn Club pushing was such a bore.

It was stupid and I can't help but feel it was done to appease FTR Bald's whiney ass.

Acclaimed are going to be super over regardless if they have the titles or not.
As long as their still on television consistently I'm not too mad
I'm actually enjoying the angle they've been in with 2.0 the last few weeks.

I like how they did it because it allowed FTR to get the belts back without going back on FTR putting over the Acclaimed.
But yeah, the Gunns were a frustrating choice for the transition.
