Matt Cappotelli. Injury after injury culminating in retirement and eventually death due to cancer.
Marcus COR Von: he was improving in ring and was due for a push before his sister died and he had to leave wrestling to take care of her kids.

These Top Flight boys seem to constantly have one or the other banged up

As a team, Top Flight's definitely been headed that way from the absurd amount of injuries both guys have accumulated both in and out of the ring so far.And it’s worth mentioning that the older one is only 23 right now.

He's been lucky when it comes to injuries, but when it comes to trash booking Psicosis has had it pretty bad. Considering that from the time they debuted until WCW in 1996-7ish, he wasn't even considered a lesser talent than Rey Mysterio Jr.
*He joins WCW, has that amazing match against Rey at BATB 96. (This ends up being the high point of his time in North America) *Ends up in that uncomfortable spot between the jobbers-to-the-stars and the serious talent, where he's kept just credible enough to make him a good jobber for the Cruiserweight and Television titles. *Jobs to Ultimo Dragon six times in a row. Turns heel halfway through the feud to absolutely no benefit. *Ends up teaming with La Parka, briefly involved in Blood Runs Cold angle. *Starts getting over feuding with the Flock. Teases team with Dragon. *Finally wins Cruiserweight Title. Original plan is long reign. But Vince Russo's on the way in and thinks rapid title changes are good for business. Loses belt back to Mysterio a week later *Agrees to unmask. Is promised second Cruiserweight Title reign as reward. Lenny Lane gets taken off TV because GLAAD. Psicosis forced to lose Lane's belt for him. This is the "reward title reign." *Shortly afterwards fired for not being American. *Returns to ECW. Jobs in short order on his return. One awesome match that is only released in an edited version on Philadelphia local TV. Then ECW closes. *Joins NWA-TNA. Participates in inaugural X-Division Title match. Does the worst of the 4. Is not kept around. *Mexicools. *Turns heel on Super Crazy and isn't used in any way shape or form for months. Allegedly someone on creative really disliked Psicosis and buried him every chance he got. *Carjacking incident happens, he never works a mainstream American promotion again.

Whilst he brought a lot of it on himself, Ken Kennedy in WWE is one that springs to mind.
Was due to headline WM24 after winning money in then bank, but gets injured; then the whole big McMahon exploding car angle is nixed because you know what.

I was just pondering WCW's handling of Psicosis the other day, and how he was around for years and seemed to never break through. The dude could be out there busting his ass and most of the time the crowd just didn't seem to care. I feel like WCW's approach to cruisers was to just put them out there and see who the fans embraced, and for what ever reason Psicosis never connected with the audience.

FTR/Revival on the main roster.
They had a big night after Wrestlemania debut and immediately start a feud with New Day but only a couple weeks later Cash fractures his jaw on a house show and is out for a few months. They return over the summer and start another big feud with the Hardys but this time Dax gets injured right away and is out for the rest of the year.

Just adding he did have some great matches with Mysterio in ECW before his WCW tenure began too, and won at least one of them.

Bryan Clark? Signs with the AWA, AWA dies. Signed with WCW and is immediately thrown into a feud with Sid and a banged up Dan Spivey so is dead in the water there given how green he is. He goes to the UWF, the UWF dies. He goes to the WWF after his SMW run and falls foul of the kliq while they were just trading the belts between themselves and running roughshod over everyone. Jumps to WCW, two fifths of the Kliq follow soon after. Goes off TV to train for what Bischoff thinks will be the next big thing, only to be completely overshadowed by the thing that turns out to be the next big thing. He finally gets over with his midcard win streak, then Kevin Nash gets the book and beats him, then he gets hurt soon after. He gets to be part of a team with one of his few friends backstage and they get saddled with an unnecessary weed gimmick. because Russo. WCW dies and they go to the WWF, then has the pleasure of working with the Undertaker in the era where he got amnesia and forgot how to wrestle. He went to Japan, got hurt working with Goldberg and that was it.

It was the best run of both his and Adams career. Unfortunately he got injured again and then WCW was bought shortly so he still got screwed by bad luck but I think your kind of underselling how well they did before that.

Emma/Tenille Dashwood is someone who definitely comes to mind as far as having bad luck goes.
-After a good run in NXT is debuted on the main roster and paired with Santino. However shortly after gets wrongfully accused of shoplifting and fired. Is immediately rehired after things are cleared up but the damage is done and then to make matters worse Santino retires due to injury leaving her with nothing to do as she's mainly used as job fodder. -Is sent back to NXT where she reinvents herself with a much better and cooler heel look and gimmick. Also forms a team with Dana Brooke that ends up being a good act. After about a year is called back up with Dana in tow and is put into a program with Becky Lynch. However less then two months later any plans or chances of a push are derailed when she injures her back and needs surgery, sidelining her for five months. -After being cleared vignettes start airing for Emmalina. These vignettes then proceed to be dragged out for four months. She finally redebuts only to say she's not going to be Emmalina but still Emma. After another month of vignettes finally makes her in ring return as Emma the night after Wrestlemania. A feud with former protege Dana is teased but a month later Emma gets injured again this time hurting her shoulder on a European Tour forcing booking plans for her again to be scrapped. -Returns after only a month after deciding to skip surgery in fear of losing her spot. However by this point the damage has been done as the combination of the Emmalina failure and her now having a reputation of being injury prone has led to the company completely giving up on her. Is put on job duty getting squashed by Nia Jax on numerous occasions. Things start looking up for her a bit in the fall of 2017 as she gets a spot in a five way Championship match at No Mercy in which she surprisingly doesn't eat the pin and then gets another big match as Asuka's debut opponent at TLC where she surprisingly takes most of the offense in a losing effort. This makes it more of a shock when she is abruptly released the following week. -Signs with ROH in early 2018 and looks to be positioned the babyface centerpiece of their women's division which is debuting a title. Falis to win the new title in a tournament and then shortly after suffers yet another shoulder injury while also experiencing bad psoriasis flareups which derails her run. -Signs with Impact in 2019 and proceeds to have an "ok" three year stint in which she manages to finally stay healthy for the most part and is at least usually involved storylines while playing a comedy midcard heel influencer character. However still kind of underachieves overall as she never wins the World Title and only just manages to eek out a tag title win at the end of her run with Madison Rayne which she may have only even got due to the Inspiation leaving. -Resigns with WWE under the Triple H regime in October 2022. It's now been six months and she still hasn't won a match on TV.

Bam Bam Bigelow goes to WWF, gets positioned as a hot new face at a point when the company wasn't REMOTELY done with Hogan on top. Then bounces to the NWA/WCW, but it's a garbage fire. It still blows me away how NWA botched this. I go on an 80s wrestling marathon 2-3 times a year. I always shake my head in disgust when it gets to 88 and Bigelow shows up. There was so much potential. Kicking things off with Windham was smart...no sense wasting time building him up. We all know who he is and how amazing it is that he's here. It immediately gets screwed up. As much as I loved Windham as a heel/Horseman/US champ...he should've lost it to Bigelow... who then sets his sights on Flair. It could've been amazing. Didn't Flair hate him and that's the main reason it immediately turned to crap? I also hated how Dusty had to place himself in the mix. In hindsight, he ruined so many things. I'd love to see an alternate timeline where Dusty is gone by mid 85. He should've went somewhere like AWA where they really could've used him. Edit WWF wasted Bigelow's potential as well. The IC belt should've been taken off Honkey and placed on Bigelow. He was red hot at the time.

Could the weed gimmick even really be called a gimmick? I don't remember it playing into their characters whatsoever. It was just vague references. Unnecessary yeah, but so subtle that you could basically ignore it if you even noticed it to begin with.

Like they were these two super intense muscle heads who would wreck things but were called Kronik and would make weed references in their promos as if they were constantly smoking it all the time. They were a standard bad ass hoss tag team who had a name and cut promos under the premise that they were big pot heads but didn't act or do anything at all that made them come off like pot heads.

Curt Hennig. Still had a heck of a career but could've been more if his back had remained healthy
Terry Taylor. Ended up a bit of a laughingstock
Paul Burchill. Really liked him and thought he could've had a great career

Lex Luger in WWF Had his title win aborted, teased for another run at WrestleMania, but nothing came of it. Was supposed to have a program with Borga but Borga got injured before anything came about. Was supposed to have a program with Mr. Perfect as far as Perfect's actions at Mania, but Perfect never got medically cleared for his back. Spent the remainder of his time in the company tagging with Bulldog against the Blu Brothers as well as Owen and Yoko. Curt Hennig. Still had a heck of a career but could've been more if his back had remained healthy Kind of crazy that Perfect spent a great deal of of the last 5 years in WWF in a non-competitive role.

Yeah, it was just APA with weed money instead of getting money for booze and poker. I don't even really think of it as THAT rip-offy even if it definitely was intentionally cribbing, since it's such a basic premise and, well, not that far off a wrestler's experience in the midcard in WCW, probably, wrestling and buying some pot to take the edge off the bumps and stressful travel.

They had pretty much concluded the Borga feud by that point so I don't think you can really count that. Luger was beating him every night all around the house circuit from October through January and pinned him in the final elimination of the Survivor Series main event which was pretty much the blow off to their feud. It was just something to keep Luger busy until Mania season when he could back after Yoko again. Borga was feuding more with Tatanka when he got injured. Perfect bailing was definitely a tough break for Lex I would agree. It was clearly being set up as a major program and instead Luger had to feud with Crush who was just coming off losing his feud to Savage. Looking back they probably should've had Backlund snap and turn heel on Luger instead of Bret. Bret already had the Owen feud at the time so it's not like he really needed it.

What made it worse is Kronik was getting over just fine without being APA at home. Stuff like that just really made WCW look desperate and lame.
