Interesting from a historical aspect in terms of comments made at the time.

The story told there doesn't line up with Bischoff's 2006 book, which said...
- the Hogan/Jarrett/Russo segment went the way it was planned. - Hogan and Bischoff had already left the building by the time Russo did his speech later.

Finally we got Hogan's version of events so we can put this mystery to bed.

Something Bischoff said isn't based in reality??? As far as I know, Bischoff's account is way more accurate and Hogan was the one lying. That first segment was a total work presented as a shoot according to Bischoff, Russo, and Jeff Jarrett. Hogan's the only one who has said otherwise.

That first segment was a total work presented as a shoot according to Bischoff, Russo, and Jeff Jarrett. Hogan's the only one who has said otherwise. The plan was for Hogan to make a surprise appearance at Halloween Havoc and challenge whoever was the champion at the time. Instead Russo went so off that it pissed off Hogan and Bischoff so much that Hogan left for good.

Hulk Hogan and real story don't belong in the same sentence.

Hulk Hogan and real story don't belong in the same sentence. This. A Scott Steiner or Ultimate Warrior promo is closer to a real story than anything Hogan ever says in a "shoot" interview.

I was ready to drop the belt dude. But they wanted Booker T or Mike Awesome or Diamond Dallas Page. I said LISTEN BROTHER...the only way I'm dropping this title is if you put Brother Bruti over dude.

Hulk Hogan and real story don't belong in the same sentence. Brother... Andre died a week after I bodyslammed him, dude. He was 700 pounds and I broke my back.

I know it's the 3rd most famous laying down and throwing a world title match incident involving Hogan within 18 months after this and the fingerpoke of doom but did they ever address the Halloween Havoc 99 thing when he returned a few months later? I know there's no possible way they could make it make sense but I don't recall if they even attempted to or whether they just acted like it didn't happen.

Buddy is just a spectacular amount of wrong here. Setting aside the more obvious wrongs, like the crowd chanting "Bret screwed Bret" (the audience has always been in Bret's corner on this one, even to this day) and Shawn shoot pinning Bret at WrestleMania (when it was an early called sharpshooter at Survivor Series), there's all the little ways he's wrong, like specifying it happened at WrestleMania 16 (aka WrestleMania 2000, Bret was already in WCW by 1998), or his "little Shawn Michaels" slight when Shawn was probably the biggest he would be his entire wrestling career. This isn't even the usual "Hulk Hogan fudges the truth to make himself look cooler" kind of lying. He just sounds like a dumbass here.

No, since Halloween Havoc ‘99 kicked off the Russo/Ferrera era and Hogan came back in the middle of the interim Sullivan era after all the Radicalz quit. If I recall, Hogan returned like nothing ever happened. You’d think they’d have tied it into the New Blood storyline when Russo took over the second time, but the only long-dangling plot thread they sewed shut then was who drove the Hummer. (Which at that point was from three soft reboots beforehand.)

Oh, it gets better...
Bubba did a 2.5 hour interview with Vince Russo, which eventually gets into his rebuttal on the Hogan interview.

So far, apparently it was all a work and Hogan didn't return to TV because he was too expensive for WCW.
And I'm approaching 2 hours and counted 200+ bros so far.
