So, every wrestler, at some point in their career, acquires a nickname. Some, like "The Viper" Randy Orton, become iconic. Others....not so much. I remember a period in late 2009 and early 2010 where Matt Striker was desperately trying to get Christian over as "The Pontiff of The Peepulation", which.....thank god that went nowhere. I'm also partially expecting this to turn into a "Let's dunk on Matt Striker's dumb nicknames" thread, so I figured I'd start us off.

Christian = CLB Daniel Bryan = Goat Face Jeff Jarrett = The Ultra Male Undertaker = Booger Red Shawn Michaels = HBShizzle Mark Henry = The Silverback Sheamus = The Great White Val Venis = The Big Valbowski Stacy Keibler = The Dutchess of Dudleyville Jack Swagger = The All American American Kane = The Big Red (r-word)
And probably the worst; Rocky Maivia = The Blue Chipper
And while it isn't a nickname, when they referred to Bray Wyatt as a Sherman tank with a Ferrari engine...that's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I was going to say Booger Red... which just never was going to catch on.
CLB only didn't really stick because Christian left pretty quickly after but it's probably better for him that it didn't... (also part of it was him not wanting to sign over Captain Charisma)

CLB only didn't really stick because Christian left pretty quickly after CLB goes back to 2003 when Austin gave him that nickname. Not only did the announcers run with it, but they were even writing articles on their website where they would only refer to Christian as "the CLB".

Yeah I remember when Austin gave it to him MY point was the audience did chant it a few times but I think only when Austin said it (like any of Rock's insults) That said at the same time he started doing Captain Charisma stuff on his own... they released a shirt that was quickly pulled as well as a pack on their online card game that was called Captain Charisma that was retitled CLB because Christian copyrighted it himself because he knew he was leaving.

I thought "Lunatic Fringe" lasted for a good chunk of Ambrose's solo face run. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

They really wanted The Wildcat to be Kingston's nickname.

They really wanted The Wildcat to be Kingston's nickname. Don't forget them trying to bring back "Bearcat" for Keith Lee.

Pretty much any nickname that Matt Striker tried to give people.
Especially when he decided to give Christian like a 2 minute-long list of nicknames that got longer by the week.

A lot of Matt Striker ones didn't stick, but I did like some, like him calling Batista "The Altered Beast", probably in reference to the video game, and making shit up about the jobbers, like calling Bao Nguyen "The Poisoned Fist of the Orient".

Wasn't that just recycling what he called Yoshitatsu? ("The Poison Fist of the Pacific Rim")

"The Great White" for Sheamus was the first one that popped in my head.
My first reaction was "um................."
Like I get the whole shark/predator thing, but still...not a good look.
I bet Sheamus was thrilled when they finally dropped it.
