Triple H as "The One True Destroyer". Guy REALLY wanted to get away from his Jean-Paul Levesque/Hunter Hearst Helmsley days. Came in to say this one. Just …what the hell? It was strange that he kept trying to push for stuff like that when "The Game" and to a lesser extent "The Cerebral Assassin" were perfectly fine.

I think that HHH probably us some awful ones that I can’t remember and that didn’t stick. Didn’t he try to get himself over as the Asskicker? Or was that unofficial? lol I believe he was "The Ultimate Asskicker" unofficially for like, a month, yeah lol. That sounds like the nickname an 11 year old boy would come up with to try to sound tough

Wasn’t Creepy Little Bastard just Vince and his inexplicable repulsion by Christian? Like, I think Christian is a fairly handsome dude, but Vince just loathed the sight of him and wouldn’t rest until the entire world agreed. I know it’s not even in the top 50 things wrong with Vince, but it’s still quintessentially a baffling McMahon foible. Vince hating Christian's face is one of the funniest weird Vince-isms

I definitely remember several occasions where Jerry Lawler referred to Hornswoggle on commentary as "Horny" or “lil’ Horny". No surprise it did not catch on.

I have a random poster from 2001 where Kane's labelled as the Man Monster Machine though I have no idea if they ever tried to actually get that over as a thing.

Christian = CLB Daniel Bryan = Goat Face Jeff Jarrett = The Ultra Male Undertaker = Booger Red Shawn Michaels = HBShizzle Mark Henry = The Silverback Sheamus = The Great White Val Venis = The Big Valbowski Stacy Keibler = The Dutchess of Dudleyville Jack Swagger = The All American American Kane = The Big Red (r-word) And probably the worst; Rocky Maivia = The Blue Chipper And while it isn't a nickname, when they referred to Bray Wyatt as a Sherman tank with a Ferrari engine...that's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I agree with most of these, but I want to say about Jack Swagger, I have an anecdote about that. When I was working at Hollywood video this kid came in with a WWE shirt and I told him it was cool, and asked who his favorite wrestler is. To my shock he said Jack Swagger, because he's the All American American. Probably just one idiosyncratic kid but still, I personally think it was a fine nickname.

Yeah, it's one of those ones I never minded, maybe because I understood it meant "All-American" as in what they call an outstanding athlete, and the latter American being for the patriotic shtick. It was obnoxious, but given he was a heel, it was very much the point.

Yeah its funny though that this kid took to him because this 7 or so year old was just so patriotic that he loved Swagger for that. Kinda funny.

I remember they tried FOREVER to get CLB over and it never caught on. They even tried to make it a chant in one of those RAW vs. Smackdown Games. Big Valbowski was okay for his nickname. It was a play on The Big Lebowski movie that was released around the time of his debut. Now, making it his official ring name, that wasn't necessary. As others said, Jack Swagger being nicknamed "The All American American" fit his character to a T. Kane as the Big Red R*** wasn't suppose to be his nickname, but moreso an insult others would throw at him. Sure as hell wouldn't fly today. After four pages, I'm surprised no one mentioned Jeff Hardy as the rainbow-hair warrior. That just didn't sound right.

Remember that one solo week they tried to make Erick Rowan “BIG RED” just shouting it over and over on commentary?

It's kinda like when Johnny Gargano had that screaming edge Lord theme and those weird intense promos, but then the rest of his character it is the dorky husband and parent to his idiot kids Thomas Dipshit and Stockholm Syndrome

Wasn't that just recycling what he called Yoshitatsu? ("The Poison Fist of the Pacific Rim") I remember him calling Yoshi the Neon Genesis at least once. Reading about Matt Striker nicknames always hits me with like +3000 psychic damage
