TNA footage has been periodically appearing in WWE bios in the last few years. Mickie has showed up in WWE with the KO title and now Santino is allowed to use his WWE created name.
I did not see anything formally announced regarding this, was wondering if anyone knew the answer

WWE likely just pays Impact for any footage that they use. Mickie with the KO title was a one off that they agreed to because they needed women for the Rumble. Unless I’m mistaken Santino ended up with his name after WWE let the trademark lapse..
I could be wrong about any(or all) of this but I think that’s how it went. There’s definitely no working agreement I don’t think.

Impact is open to everything…WWE just has no reason to call for things aside from the occasional footage to put in a project they’re working on. They let AJ Styles send in a video for their 20th anniversary which was cool. Obviously the Mickie thing was kind of wild, really. They aren’t enemies or anything but WWE doesn’t make a habit of doing stuff with others because they don’t have to. There has been WWE footage on Impact a couple times (after that Rumble, when Shamrock went in the hall of fame) which was kind of nuts since you never see WWE footage on another wrestling show…like ever.
Impact and AEW have a more open relationship than WWE and Impact. Footage from either ends up on stuff from time to time. They share some unsigned talent occasionally. They both have New Japan and AAA partnerships so you see some guys pop up in both there too. The Machine Guns got a call to work that PPV last year…and Kazarian worked impact for months under AEW contract just because he asked to and Tony was fine with it. Tony let’s ex Impact guys send video messages for Impact shows whenever they ask too. They don’t have the crossover they did a couple years back but are much friendlier than WWE is with anyone. Like…with them it seems like stuff can be done pretty easily…Tony just doesn’t need to do it with a roster his size.
But like I said…Impact will work with anyone. There was a month a year or two ago where they had footage from WWE, AEW, RoH (pre Tony), New Japan and AAA on episodes of Impact. It was wild. They’ll do anything.

Partly right. The trademark lapsed nearly a decade ago, but it's Anthem who've filed for it now.
