I'm of the opinion that if you aren't doing Roman/Cody at SummerSlam with Cody "finishing the story" (and they f***ing should), Seth's title loss to a guy would be the thing you do, especially if it's to someone who would really benefit from it.

Kind of curious how the hell they get to the rumored Cody / Gunther Mania main event at this juncture with the lay of things. There are a multitude of ways you can do it, ideal'd be Gunther dropping the Intercontinental belt at some point and challenging Cody for the WWE one with him having beaten Roman at SummerSlam but one I could see them doing is Cody just completely forgetting about finishing the story in favor of challenging Gunther for the World one. Maybe at whatever the post-SummerSlam PPV is could have title-for-title for Gunther gunning for both the World title and the record I guess, he'd be coming up on it around early September.

I think those reports were shot down by Boozer. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get Seth vs. Gunther and Cody vs. Roman for Mania. Or like you said Cody’s new story becomes winning the Raw title.

After he's beaten Beastie Boy in a brutal match with blood everywhere, Cody needs to finish the story being told by beating Roman and winning the WWE Title, not the new one held by Seth. Cody is over as F*** and should be, and should have been the one to beat Roman.

Yeah, I also call bullshit on any idea where Cody decides to fight for the world title his Father has zero involvement in. And no “He trained the guy who held the NXT title first” ain’t it either, that’s shit too. You don’t hype up “Finish the story” for months and make it lead to something that was created because the goobers at top didn’t have the guts to do it.

Not sure how they get to it before Mania though if Cody isn’t in the MITB match; which makes me think they might have different plans.

Rollins going the Bret Hart route is the best thing for this new belt. Let him mix it up against lower card guys every now and then.

If we're doing Dom as the challenger I would without hesitation have him win. Like, wouldn't even consider otherwise. He could lose it right back to Seth on Raw or lose it immediately via Money in the Bank but this character could get sooooo much mileage out of never ceasing to remind you of the window of time when he and Rhea were champions together.

Give Dom the belt. Even for 30 seconds.

Great match against Priest with now Balor looking to be the feud for MITB.

Wins against Styles and defended against Balor sucessfully. Now Priest lurks in the background with the MITB.

If this actually goes through, what was the purpose of this title being created in the first place?
If it dies one year later?
