Imagine if the Rock chose to work Seth, how much it would help Seth and not take away from Cody. Would make both the FT guys even bigger stars

Imagine if the Rock chose to work Seth, how much it would help Seth and not take away from Cody. Would make both the FT guys even bigger stars I was pretty astounded at Roman's promo on Seth on SD. Considering they're pals, he straight up buried him. "He works more for less money, he's the best number 2 because everyone he faces I beat, nobody on the roster matters and that title doesn't matter and no matches or segments matter". And the problem is the commentary don't even act like he's a hypocrite, cheat, disingenous, statpadder etc., they AGREE with this shit, so it's not even like a "boo, the heel said mean things that aren't true" it's a "This guy is all that matters, he says so, the commentators say so, the company says so". The old rule in wrestling was never cut a promo that just runs somebody down because that does nothing for anyone- someone beats them they beat a nobody, they beat someone, that someone lost to a nobody. Seems like since Triple H's reign of terror title run that rule's steadily gone out the window.

I don't really know why Roman burying Seth is being treated like a surprise given he and Heyman have been doing that for months. They're constantly throwing out, "By the way that other belt is bullshit," asides for no reason, because the two of them are actively trying to tear down and bury every act that isn't them.

So how has Seth and this title and concurrent title reign look the last few weeks?
Any redeem factors here?

So how has Seth and this title and concurrent title reign look the last few weeks? Any redeem factors here? He’s been made to feel more important, and cut the promo of his life last week. If he also gets Rock/Roman in a tag match night 1 then his stock is looking pretty good.

Why doesn't Seth, or anyone for that matter, ever mention that he beat Roman? He did not win the title but he walked away with a W. I figured the reason Seth was uniquely qualified to be the inaugural consolation prize belt holder is because he is the one guy Roman did not beat.
Like when Roman is running his mouth about how Seth and his belt is trash, Seth should be allowed to come back with, "I beat you last time we met".

I think Seth exists in this weird space right now where this story's quickly doing a lot for him but his belt looks even more worthless than it did before. At this point it looks like even his title match is going to be depicted as a complete afterthought compared to his role in Roman / Cody.

The interesting story would be Seth's undivided focus on helping Cody causing him to be weaker when he defends at Mania and losing the belt, which could be parlayed into a heel turn after Mania.

I think Seth himself looks like a bonafide superstar. It’s the natural projection in which he’s been heading the last few years.
I think the title’s really looking obsolete. Partly because of some Seth the character has said, part because he’s injured and not competing.

Kind of sucks Drew is pushed into the background now due to Rock/Roman/Seth/Cody night 1.
So in order to put attention back onto the Drew, he better injure his leg on the go home Raw before Wrestlemania, so Seth can be blamed for their team losing due to being injured by Drew.
We need Drew to head into Wrestlemania strong and absolute trash and destroy Seth kind of like Cena/Lesnar Summerslam 2014.

I think he needs to lose the title at WM, but Seth has really come into his own as a babyface lately.

I hope Drew has re-signed because as much as I like Seth I'm ready for him to drop the title. If Drew can't then I'd have Priest cash in MITB either at Mania or the next night on Raw.
One of the final Raws before Mania is in Chicago so I wouldn't be shocked if Punk appears and says he's going to be there for Seth/Drew whether as a commentator/guest referee. Punk has issues with them both so it would make it pretty unpredictable. He could cost Drew. He could cost Seth. He could try to stop Drew from cheating etc and "accidentally" take out Seth somehow leading to Drew winning which I think would be my preferred outcome and sets up both Punk v Seth and Punk v Drew down the line.

I'd say Rollins recovered well from "Diarrhea Dwayne" and people saying that line sunk him as a face. He got to tell off Rock and fired back with a great babyface fire promo.

The crowd last night actually did a “DIARRHEA” chant. Might be time to admit that fans actually LIKE the guy, and it isn’t just them liking to chant a song, but that would mean having to admit that he’s a good babyface after all.

Dude’s the only one bringing any fire to this main event angle, probably because he’s the one with the damn chip on his shoulder with shit to prove. You know, having spent most of the last year constantly being told he’s a fraudulent world champion and all that. Like, I get that his act isn’t very deep or layered. He wears funny clothes, dances like Joaquin Phoenix and has a song that people do a Gregorian chant to. But it’s working for him. It worked enough for them to have to turn him babyface in the first place (remember, this started as a heel gimmick).

I didn't even bother with a championship tracker thread for this reign, because honestly I thought we would have 2-3 different champions after Seth by this point heading into Wrestlemania.
I think some have felt this has been an OP and snorefest filled title reign.
If he doesn't lose to Drew it will be brutal.
307+ days.

Given how inconsistent WWE is at booking babyface champs, I'd say Seth did as well as he could have. Not the most outstanding reign, but the fans never turned on him and he put in good ring work week in and week out.

What if Punk vs Drew happens at Summerslam. And then Drew beats Punk after the match causing the 2024 MITB winner to cash in. That would be nice symmetry. Than Punk can win rumble and main event mania for his "real" moment.
